ah vultures. the only time ive done it (and i dont really like doing it) was at school. the school i went to was more of a commuter school. of course the lots near the buildings were for staff and students had to walk :P

some days the garage would be full and you had to get there at a certain time as other students were leaving so you could maybe get a spot. there were a few times it took over 10 min to find a spot.

never have had the problem at work tho. ive had a few people vulture me while shopping but nothing bad. and i try to go as soon as im ready

My main problem with vultures is that the majority of ones I've seen are sitting pretty much on the bumper of a minivan or SUV, the owners of which usually turn out to be a family with lots of small kids to load up into car seats, besides the half ton of groceries they've just toted out of the store. Or an elderly person/couple, also with a decent amount of purchases. Both these types of people will take a fairly good amount of time to get their kids and/or groceries loaded up and ready to go. With the vulture waiting behind them, not only are they stressed, but it ends up causing traffic to back up grossly in the parking lot and increases risk of accidents, because people get tired of waiting behind them and will start passing in the opposite lane to get away.

I've taken to just parking about as far away from the store as I can, simply to avoid the congestion. My Mom is nearly 62 years old and starting to get arthritic, and she does the same thing and still walks, even if I offer to drop her off at the door. Maybe it's just my area, but the people I see acting like vultures in the parking lot are the same nitwits who act like speed demons with their carts in the store, racing willy-nilly all over the place and giving you dirty looks when they almost slam into you.

I too will sometimes load up and then walk back into the store, just to get them off my back. I hate being rushed, and parking lots are no exception.

One thing to remember though, is that its a parking lot. It's for people to park and go into the store and do business. It is not for people to hang out, eat their lunch, have sex, or even just to fuck with that guy that you deem too lazy to be worthy of your pristine parking spot. Plus how do we know he's really lazy? Just because someone doesn't have a handicapped plate on their car doesn't mean they're not disabled in some way.

That seems fine and dandy, Dr, but people have a tendency to assume.

Of course, we all know what comes of assuming, but quite frankly, I don't know you from Joe Blow. I'm just going to think you're a lazy asshole who isn't willing to park further down.

Maybe that's wrong of me, but quite frankly, I don't care. I understand many people have underlying health issues that don't always qualify them for handicapped stalls, but there is no way every single person who is spot stalking me is doing it because they have a health problem and can't walk that far.
