Comparing homosexuality to vegetarianism

Someone at work said the reason he doesn't agree with homosexuality is the same reason he doesn't agree with vegetarianism.

He said because we have teeth to chew meat with that we are meant to chew meat. And because boy parts are made to match girl parts that is how it should be.

Apparently he doesn't understand that while vegetarianism is a choice my being gay is not.

But, I can see the argument there. Think about it, "Tab A" was originally designed to fit into "Slot B." But, not every Tab *wants* to fit into a Slot, or is even attracted to Slots in the first place

Okay, you may be right there.

My whole point is that it doesn't matter whether it "goes against nature" or not. That doesn't make it a bad thing. It's not harming anyone so who the hell cares if it's natural?

We can debate about whether or not homosexuality is a choice or not until the end of time, but as far as I'm concerned it doesn't hurt anyone so who cares if it's a choice or not?

Our "boy parts" are also used to urinate and generate testosterone and other male sex hormones. So I guess gay men's "boy parts" are still used after all. This guy is only looking at part of the picture.


Also, if anyone uses the "it's not natural" argument, ask them to put their money where their mouth is. Ask them to get rid of their central heating and air conditioning, their eyeglasses, their contact lenses, their iPod, their computer, their refrigerator, etc. Heck, ask them to resort to living in little hunter-gatherer groups with barely any clothes, where all of their food is scavenged for or hunted, and where most people live 20-30 years tops. If nature had it's way, that's how we'd be living.

*Deep sea male fish that melt(?) into their female mates; other fishes that just attach to their mates for life; amphibians are odd; actually, most fish and water related animals are pretty weird come to think of it.

** Praying mantises and some spiders that may or may not eat their mate after sex.

As for me, I've always wondered why God talks to those who've been wandering around in the desert for umpteen amount of days... and the only witness is the person who might be suffering from heat exhaustion and/or severe dehydration.

Or why God talks to people who people who seem perfectly capable of building multi-million dollar empires without His help... Then those people turn around and ask people to send their money to him.

And why is an 'invisible sky friend' the only kind of 'invisible friend' you're allowed to have? Anyone else, above a certain age, is usually locked up for being delusional.
