People tend to get slightly annoyed when I respond to the "get a real job" quote with

I have a very well paid job with a cast iron pension, how about you?

Tends to knock the wind out their sails a bit

One of our interns said that a monkey could do her job. Of course, this is the same person who *got* her job simply because her daddy was one of the partners. Her entire day was spent staring at the wall, or being a bitch. But, being the smartass I am, I couldn't let the monkey comment go. After she'd said it, I was like "The monkey quit. That's why we hired you." That didn't go over well.

There are times I think I'd rather work with the proverbial trained monkey than certain coworkers. I don't know which type of coworker annoys me more, the chronic whiner or the just plain lazy. Then, there are the lazy whiner coworkers who fit both categories -- the lazy ones who cry the blues all the time.
