  • People who are afraid of water

Ok this just bothers the hell out of me.

    Its raining, GET OVER IT.

Getting wet may mess up your hair, or your clothes or your makeup. But, buy an umbrella. Its an important part of nature. Standing at the entrance of the building waiting for it to die down is just a waste of time. Not going out to the movies cause it's raining is a poor excuse. They invented rain coats and umbrellas for a reason.

I personally just walk through the rain. I don't like being wet or cold, but I will suffer through it. No reason to not do something because it is raining.

Unless your tires currently don't have any treads and you don't have the money to replace them. Then not driving in the rain to go do something like going to the movies is a very valid idea.

Assuming I'm not in anybody's way, what's wrong with waiting a few minutes for it to die down a bit?

I'm guessing that Daskinor's friends have perhaps kept him waiting for this reason.

I don't like getting wet, because it ruins my hair. I'm not a prima donna about it, and I won't make others wait for me. But if I'm on my own, without an umbrella, and have the time? Sure, I try to avoid going out into the rain.

I live in the country and hate the people you describe, especially the ones who are wearing swim suits, aren't in possession of a cell phone or keys, and refuse to walk out to the barn because it started to rain.

I get not wanting to move Electronics, power tools, firearms, and other items that do not like being wet while it is raining. but when your ready to go swimming in my pond and it starts raining, so you chicken out and want to stay up at the house instead of walking to my barn.

          You can't fix stupid.

I can't speak for anyone else but should I be transporting any of the above enumerated items it would most likely be in a case or (if suitable) pocket (for firearms see: holster) in which case it stands to little or no chance of getting damaged due to a little rain.

I don't like getting wet, but I also like to do stuff regardless of circumstances to the contrary. Rain may be unpleasant, but it's not the freaking siren of doom.

If your hair is anything like the pic in album, it is awesome hair.

I'm not afraid of rain. I like rain. I don't like ponds, rivers, oceans. Yet I like swimming pools. Why do I not like them? I don't need to be the 8th or 9th memember of the family that died by drowning.

I used to hate driving around New Orleans when it rained. I never really found out why, but down there, they would drive like 10 miles or more below the speed limit, no matter how lightly it was raining.

                  Saturday we had a soaker.

I went to target, there was a huge cluster of cars parked outside the entrance of people waiting. And people do the drop off and park deal. Or the leave the cart in the store and let me go get the car, and there is no room because of the aforementioned.

Once I was done getting my cat litter, ferret litter and cat food. I had to maneuver past the 10 people waiting by the door for the perfect chance to make a break for it. Made it hard for me to pop out my Umbrella Umbrella (not a typo) to place it in the car to keep the food and litter bags dry as possible. Then I had to get past all the cars in the fire lane, they where blocking the ramp to get the car off the curb.

Then I drove to my next destination. all the while people are going 20 miles below the speed limit for some unknown reason. Those same slowpokes are also the ones that NEVER HAVE THEIR GOD DAMN HEADLIGHTS ON! (that is another rant)

Next I get home and call up some peeps. I am thinking a few pints of beer and a 5 way game of Magic the Gathering. Three are in 1 is , I don't wanna go out in the rain. So it was a four way match, and I need to work on my sliver deck bad. I always get ganked when I use it.

Next day it was drizzly.Time to go help my mother then stop on the way home for some hard liquor. She wanted me to help her with something outside. But because it was raining, (amount 2mm an hour) she was going to stand at the window and supervise. It is slightly better then her standing 10' away and supervising.

I have a motorbike. I'm used to getting wet in the rain.

Having said that, it annoys me when people say stuff like, "You're going shopping today? But it's raining!" So? I have an umbrella, and this is my only day off. It often rains in England, so why should I stop doing stuff cuz of the weather?

Also, sorry to be offtopic, but your topic title reminded me of Sonic. XD

If it's pouring and I don't have an umbrella, I'll usually wait a bit before venturing out to my car. However, I typically don't refuse to go places simply because it's raining. In fact, the only weather phenomena that ever change my plans are snow and ice. Aside from that, if I want to go to the store, the movies, etc., I'll usually go regardless of whether it's raining, cold, dark, etc.

When I still lived at home, I often would stay in after it got dark, but that was only when my dad quit working second shift and was home in the evenings. He is a bit of a control freak (no disrespect to Dad, just telling the truth), and he was really cautionary about us going out after dark because we lived in the country and a lot of deer roamed the area. Now, he never flat out said that we COULDN'T go out after dark. However, I knew that if I did go out after dark and I did hit a deer, I would never hear the end of it, so I just tried to do everything I needed to do during the day.

Yes, but it's not *cold* water, I'm not dressed, and I have a towel, comb, and dry clothes ready for afterwards. So, not much like a rainstorm.

Having said that, I'm one of those people who does just go out in it, so long as it's not coming down in buckets. I just won't *stay* out in it unless I have my umbrella.

I don't usually shower with my clothes on.

Getting soaked in the rain is obviously more uncomfortable, especially if you know you won't be able to change your clothes any time soon.
