Lots of skynyrd songs are about places in the deep south. Many of these are the very same places where one could be beaten to death for having the wrong color skin. .

Except when Skynard sings about the south its about the positive aspects as a rebuttle to all the stereotypes about how bad the south is. There are plenty of more apropriate artists that sang about bad places in the south. I'd say Steve Earle would be a better choice. You should use the edit button and put him in instead

      Good grief!
Talk about arguing something for the sake of arguing.

He was talking about freakin' places in the freakin' south, and he used a group known for singing about freakin' places in the freakin' south.

What difference does it make if their songs had a positive spin about the places mentioned in their lyrics, and DrFaroohk was speaking negatively about people in these places where he grew up?

It's not about the freakin' attitudes, etc. It was a reference to the geographical locations the way I read it.

Now we can order people to edit their posts to reflect our opinions?

      Give me a break.
      Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

So far, we've had two drug raids in the past month, several cars have been broken into, a few fights, and other crappy things like that. Anyone remember the FBI agent that was killed back in 2008? Well, it seems the suspect's husband was connected to the building next door to where I work. He was using one of the apartments to store his crack. Trust me, you haven't lived until you've seen the building you work in...surrounded by a SWAT team They didn't find the prick that day, but he got busted later.

After seeing that, plus the vandalism the other night (the crackheads next door decided it would be a good idea to destroy their electrical boxes/meters, and then blow out the windows in the back of that building)...makes me *so* glad I don't live in Sharpsburg. It really is a shitty neighborhood...

Getting back on topic, seriously though, there are always going to be geniuses and idiots...with the rest of us falling somewhere in between. With that said, I've always tried to use the power of the 'net to *enhance* what I already know. Sure, it does take me down a notch when I realize that I don't know as much as I think I do...

Some of you know that I've been into sports cars (particularly MGBs) for years. I'm no expert by *any* means, yet I've read every article and book on them, stripped my own car to a bare shell in short order, etc. But, the inner workings of certain things were a bit of a "dark art" for whatever reason. Take the twin SU HS4 (IIRC) carburetors.

For years, I always knew what they did--basically to mix petrol and air, and force it into the cylinders. But, until I read up on them...I wasn't exactly sure how they did it. Still a bit fuzzy in that regard, but at least I understand how they work now...and could probably fix or rebuild them if I had to
