  • Why are you complaining to me?

OK, I can't stand people who will bitch to me about stuff they know that I either one don't give a damn about or two think they are wrong about.
The one that is really getting to me right now is my boyfriend's sister who keeps complaining about the fact that their cousin does not always wear his temple garments.
She is in a downright fury over the fact that he would go through the temple and NOT wear the garments he earned during that right and ritual. I do not begrudge her that, she is free to her opinion.
What does bother me is that she knows that I was excommunicated from the church (granted at my own request) and that her brother should be excommunicated from the church. She knows that neither of us hold the rules of the church in high regard and our feelings towards the church hierarchy is cold at best. Yet she still comes to us to complain about someone not following the rules of the church or obeying the teachings of its leadership. Then she'll get upset when we saying "so, what's the big deal". Honestly, don't expect me to get involved in your valiant quest to get your cousin to wear his garments, because I honestly can't bring myself to care. For that matter, I'm being polite when I say "so, what's the big deal" or "what do you want me to do about it" because my true feeling is "good for him for realizing that his church rules are full of shit, only 12,999,999 to go."
I have though gone so far as to tell her, he takes care of his wife and kids, he obeys all the laws, he has integrity and does not lie, he is a hard worker, he treats everyone with respect and dignity. In my book that is what is important and makes him a good man, not his choice of what to clothe his body in.
Yet she still comes to me to bitch and moan then gets upset when I don't share in her righteous anger.
