  • My roommate's lack of chesticles

OK, with so many people ragging on Blas about her boyfriend, I've thought a lot about my roommate and her fiance/husband (they are legally married by the court but have had no ceremony, so they still consider themselves to be fiances not husband and wife... it's weird).
OK, so this guy, he's 30, and is living with his parents. Works at a call center (giving him credit, he does at least have a decent job) and goes to school (once again credit to him). So far with the exception of living with parents seems OK (and living with parents is somewhat understandable when going to college, because that aint cheap).
Now let's start adding facts about him.
Fact- he has a kid... who he avoids having around my roommate, despite the fact that they are engaged.
Fact- there is heresay (which I know isn't reliable, but it's plausible) that DCFS has received reports about him in the past.
Fact- He does not like spending time with my rooommate... the only reason he ever comes over is to watch ESPN because his parents don't have cable.
Fact- He's going to school to be a writer because he thinks that will be the easiest career choice... not because he likes writing.
Fact- his response to difficult conversations is to just walk out the door pissed and not talk for the next couple of days. (no communication skills whatsoever and unwilling to face up to difficult topics about life and their relationship).
Fact- my roommate has made it clear that she does not like the fact that they are engaged (married... whatever) and not living together.
Addendum- I've told them that I have no problem with this guy moving in (because I apparently hate myself) as long as he pays for his share of utilities (which would be like $25 a month).
Addendum- I have another bedroom (which granted is also a storage room which is why it isn't rented out) that his kid could use that I've told him I'd rent to him for cheap (like $100 and to hell with figuring out utilities for the kid)
Tidbit- I've been informed by my roommate, that while he hasn't outright said it, he hasn't taken up my offer because he doesn't want his kid to see that homosexuality is normal and acceptable and, you'll love this, he does not trust us around his kid because we are homosexual.
Addendum- my roommate hates homophobia and is a vocal supporter of gay rights.
Added bonus- this guy took $1600 of my roommate's money to buy a new car that is a piece of shit... did this without her knowledge or consent... he claims he did it so they no longer had to share a car... this new car cannot be registered because it fails safety inspections, thus straining their finances unnecessarily.
More fun- this apparently isn't the first time he's done something like that.

Icing on the cake- she has several times said that she wants to call it off.

So what does she continually do when it comes time to call it off... "Oh, everyone deserves a second chance"

I'm sorry honey, this guy is up to his 20th chance at least. I know you have chesticles somewhere, you shirt doesn't really hide them, now start acting like it.

Meh, my boyfriend is only on strike 2, and that's because he's been arrested twice since we started dating.

He really hasn't done anything to me that any other guy hasn't done before...not asking me before changing plans, going off somewhere and not letting anyone know, not telling his own family if he takes off, getting really drunk and annoying, etc.

Sorry Blas, I wasn't trying to compare this to your situation, just that your situation brought it to mind.
And this guy is on like strike 20 or something... and my roommate will say as much, but she refuses to be the one to call it off.
