I don't get it ether... Is it the fact the eight makes it look like a smile?
Toilet Paper has been "bath tissue" for the longest time, and it really chaps my ass - Blas
I AM THE MAN of the house! I wear the pants!!! But uh...my wife buys the pants so....yeah.
Tbh, I'm still scarred from the time Ree gave me a warning...years ago. I have nightmares about it...
here.
It took 'til the second(third?) page to do so. I'm impressed.
I was sick of talking abut you.
I felt it was time to talk about me.
Also, you seem to be all hot and bothered about a misdirected quote.
It was pretty obvious to me what std was saying.
std said, "I will quote to you what you quoted to the rest of us."
std was showing you what you quoted as being the starting point of threadjacking, and explaining that in their opinion, what Greenday posted was still relevant to the discussion.
S/he did not say that you had posted that particular message. S/he was saying that you QUOTED that particular message.
The only possible "mistake" was that std didn't edit to attribute the quote within a quote to Greenday, so it confused you, I guess.
Bolding is mine:
Fine, I'll quote to you what you quoted to the rest of us...
I had no idea you were banned on CS. I rarely post on there these days. I don't work in anything with regular customers and I'm not allowed to go into detail about what I do so there's really no reason for me posting as much there anymore. But yea, if you were banned on CS, I'm pretty sure there was a reason behind it. CS and Fratching are the best moderated forums I've ever been on. They are extremely fair and are quick to respond to issues. I've been nothing but impressed by the mods.
Gee. That seems to be about the mods, about your banning, and about the title of the thread. So what was that you were saying?
Obviously you were annoyed that the thread became about discussing me and my moderating, and the fact that I am not a vindictive bitch as you seem to feel I had some axe to grind with you.
To be honest, I don't even think about you outside of the forum.
I can assure you I don't have some deep seated hatred for you.
You did some things at CS that went against the rules and guidelines, and I sent you a message about it.
Does that mean I stayed up at nights thinking of ways to bring you down?
No.
In fact, I think you are just one of those people who seems to invite trouble on forums and sites that rely heavily on rules.
Maybe because you have to follow the rules so closely in the military, you feel that in your recreational time, you can do what you want. I don't know.
Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?
I admin on a forum, and while some times it can be rewarding, other times it can be a thankless task, like banging your head against a brick wall. I certainly do not revel in banning or punishing people, so I doubt that any of the forum staff at CS.com do, either. The following however do their best to drive me up the wall:
* Noobs. No, not new people; that's NEWbs. I mean people who refuse to read the rules; who, when said rules are pointed out at them act like they don't apply; who refuse to listen to either gentle rebukes or tellings off; who will eventually end up on a temp ban and afterwards, either leave or return and act all martyred like.
* Trolls. No matter how many times I tell forum users "Do not feed the troll!", there are still forum users who feel they have to reply to trolling rather than report it. This just creates a ton of work for the forum staff, and that's even before I and the super mod can get on with dealing with the troll.
* Obscenity and inappropriate posting. The first is self explanatory. No-one wants to look at pictures of goatse or disgusting sexual practices on forums. The second is posting that is inappropriate for the forum audience. On the forum I admin, there are teenagers posting, some as young as thirteen, so obviously what's inappropriate there might be appropriate here.
Those are pretty much the only things that people can get banned for; excluding advertising and spambots, of course. Neither I or the super mod go around rubbing our hands together, chuckling evilly and randomly banning people just cuz we feel like doing so. And I doubt that the forum staff here ban people at the drop of a hat, either. I would think it was a last resort, only brought out when nothing else works. Seriously, I have talked to a person, warned them, infracted them and tried everything I could think of before a temp ban was put in place. I know that the forum staff, both here and on CS.com, do their utmost best in ensuring the rules are kept without being dictatorial. ^^
"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."
Ree, I'd be suspended b/c my amv's use songs. It's kind of a common thing among ppl who make amv's. I think that's why the hey-day of amv's is over too. It has nothing to do with any type of trouble between me and any members.
And I had mentioned thread-jacking in my OP, so I felt it was ok to find where it went off-topic. I already said I should have edited it to only include the comment of being afraid of you after your rebuke. Again, sorry I was lazy and didn't edit the quote.

If you expected and had no problem with threadjacking, then I really don't understand why it became such an issue that you felt it needed to be pointed out when it occurred.

The issue I was addressing was not a poorly edited quote.
You were getting bent out of shape over the fact that it looked like std was saying those were your words when they weren't.
I was merely pointing out that you had obviously missed the part where it was clearly stated that std was quoting what you quoted. You brought it to the attention of the mods that you felt you were being quoted incorrectly, since those were not your words, so I was merely trying to clear up the obvious misunderstanding and confusion.
It's irrelevant to my point that you are saying the part std chose to highlight was not the part you were referring to when you mentioned threadjacking.
Point to Ponder:
Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

Fair enough. It's your thread. You can take it wherever you want...within reason.
Just seems odd to me that it came across as if you resented the threadjacking even though you seem to have expected it.
