I realize that rules are important, especially in a school like mine with expensive computer equipment and such. But as students paying $35,000 to be there, I'd think we'd at least be allowed to have a bottle of water in class. Seriously, they'll make students leave the classroom to have a drink of water.
Food I understand, heck I even understand other drinks. Coffee cups aren't always leakproof, and I can see not allowing people to bring fast food cups in. But a bottle of water? Really? Because one person accidentally spilled something once? (That was the reasoning that one of the tech guys told us).
Not to mention that this rule wasn't even in effect two quarters ago. They just decided that there should be absolutely no food or drink in class. I think I even heard that students aren't supposed to have it in their bag, which I sincerely hope is not true, because we don't have lockers, so we have nowhere else to store our lunches while in class. I have a feeling that part is a rumor though, but who knows with my school. Besides, they'd have a major problem if they tried to search bags, none of the students would allow it.
Only one more quarter left after this one...I'll just keep telling myself that.
