Besides, "immediately" means different things to different businesses. Immediately to my company means you'd be required to start within the next few weeks, because it takes that long for us to go through the interview and vetting process. "Immediately" for unskilled labour, where they may not do much vetting of their candidates, probably means within a day or two.

My hubby received the benefit of an "immediate need" job ad.
The Wednesday before last, he was laid off from his job. He went home at 10:30, got on the state jobs website, and started looking for a new job. He posted his resume to several headhunters, and one had a job that matched his skills perfectly. The employer asked to see him that day, as their old IT guy was leaving the next week (last Friday, to be exact). So Hubby went to the interview at 2:30 the same day he was laid off, and found out the next day that he got the job. He started his new job that Monday. There wasn't even a break in his paycheck.
I suggested he write his old job a letter thanking them for the opportunity to find a better paying, less stressful job, which he wouldn't have had the chance to get if they hadn't laid him off when they did."The future is always born in pain... If we are wise what is born of that pain matures into the promise of a better world." --G'Kar, "Babylon 5"
