I hate when I hear this. I will be hanging out with friends someone new comes along that went to college now works at some company the standard "everyone should go this way" route.
They hear about our lives on the road less traveled the one where we travled explored figured out who we are. Then they tell us how interesting our lives are.
The reason this irritates me is that it doesn't mean anything. I wish I could smack my younger self around. In my opinion my life was too interesting. When your 28 and being told by someone 42 that you sound old you realize something isn't right.
Everyone's life is interesting in different ways and honestly mine has been pretty dull for the last few years. I know grass is always greener but man I wish I had applied myself in high school.
The people that tell me this need to realize that short of going back to school, which I plan to do, is that while yes my life was interesting it won't keep being interesting if I don't go back to school and get the opportunities that work with how my life is now while this person envious of my adventures has doors opening left and right.
