  • Class action lawsuit! Class action lawsuit!!

Ever notice how the majority of people who claim that they're going to file a "class action lawsuit" actually don't qualify for one?

A class action lawsuit is when a LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE are going to file the same lawsuit against one entity. Here's the definition:

In law, a class action or a representative action is a form of lawsuit where a large group of people collectively bring a claim to court and/or where a class of defendants are being sued.
So, if you're unhappy with your bill shouting that you're going to file a class action lawsuit just makes yourself look stupid to anyone who actually knows what one is.

The same goes with if you're unhappy with the fact that you can't get a sale price from a sale that ended two weeks ago.

The same also goes with a store that won't take back your 6 month old, beat up, electronics device because you think it is a piece of crap.

Also, a lawsuit is rarely started as a class action one, it is usually started as a single claim and then the plaintiff's attorney's seek out other people who may be able to file with them (usually with large scale technical issues, etc.).

My guess is people think it is a class action lawsuit because it is against a company and individual lawsuits against companies aren't heard of as often.

Actually, people need to learn threatening to call the DM is a much better way to force compliance. Most tend to hold the company line and not resolve an issue they aren't supposed to unless it going to piss of a higher level of management when there is technically a fund to pay off said angry person.
