I really hate it when you tell a story (or moreso to the point, make a thread) and don't make a blanket judgement or stereotype, simply tell a story or say that several people have done this or that or whatever have you, and someone chirps along with "Um, I do that" and then goes on explaining, sometimes it seems defending themselves or their actions.
Maybe it's a stupid thing to irk someone, but it drives me nuts when people chime in just to say that they DO something that someone posts about that they feel is sucky or rude, and then go on to justify it, especially when the OP never said that everyone who does it is stupid or everyone does it period.
A good example would be something as simple as making a thread about people who go through the express lane with too many items, and how they felt it was sucky or rude, and someone always comes along "Well, I do this sometimes, because the cashier said I could and they waved me in!" well, that's fine and dandy. Did the OP say "Everyone who does this is sucky!" or "Everyone who does this should be shot"? No. So why are you so butthurt over it?
I have done it before when I've felt a judgement or stereotype was made, maybe even at times if I got a little too hot over something and I probably should have just kept my fingers still and not responded (and so maybe I have been a hypocrite because now it bothers me). I just feel it happens a little bit too often and just goes to show moreso that the written (or typed) word can really be confusing.
