The way I figure, my friends may get paid less than me, but they have the most desireable hours to work and never have to work overtime or on weekends, so they need to shove it. I get paid extra to work a shift that no one wants to work, and time and a half to always have to be there. It sucks, but I'll take it. Guess what? If I went to 1st shift, I'd lose $180 a month (and that was before my raise this year, I'll bet it's over $200 a month now).

So whenever people bitch "Why don't you switch to a different shift?" when I get sleepy during the afternoons on Fridays or Saturdays, I'll snap back "Are you going to pay to make up for what I'd lose if I went to a better shift?"
I wish my job, paid more for working 3rds. Makes me think of switching to wal-mart, not only do they start at a dollar an hour more than my company. For 3rds they pay $2 more than that for a differential. Most my company would offer is 50 cents and that is only if there is a like competitor open doing the same. I can't wait till I can quit my job and work 40hrs a week, weekends off makeing double what I get paid now.

Because when you are in a casual fun situation there is no need to be seriouse. You can be casual and fun. It also lets you know that they aren't looking for a serious answer where you rant at them for awhile, rather they just want a vague over view or they are just asking to be polite and show interest in your life.
