I understand saying this to kids who just turned 18 or younger who aren't really there yet still living at home their parents handling the bills and such.
But I get bothered when I am almost 30 have been a father, a husband, a Soldier and have a steady career and then people say about my not knwoing what to do next, "So you don't know what you want to do when you grow up"
When it's said as a joke it doesn't bother me but when people are serious it does when they are discounting everything that I have done before like it never happened because obviously until I am doing what I want to do for the rest of my life nothing else matters.
I am sorry I may never know. I may find something to do and then go another direction after that.
The question at my age isn't "What will you do when you grow up?" It is "What will you do next?"
