    Nope.
    From the site rules:
    1. Intellectual Property
By uploading materials to any Forum or submitting any materials to Customers Suck!, you automatically grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and display, create derivative works from and distribute such materials or incorporate such materials into any form, medium, or technology now known or later developed anywhere. In addition, you warrant that all so-called moral rights in those materials have been waived.
That comment about reimbursing fees was just my way of saying that Raps pays for the site and provides it for free, so he can pretty much have things as he pleases.
    Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

Send a PM to Raps if you feel that way, but it's his site, so he can do as he pleases when it comes down to it.

Besides, why do you care? You were banned. It's irrelevant to you how the the place is run.

If you want your remaining portion of your membership fees reimbursed, send a self-addressed stamped envelope off to Rapscallion, and he will drop them in the post to you.
I care because my end-goal is, and will ever be, to return. That was the reason for my proposal which was rejected so bluntly a month or so ago.

Also, I have friends there and I look out for my friends.

Good luck on that one. Unbannings are extremely rare. As a matter of fact, only one member I know of has been reinstated, and that person proceeded to abuse that good will and self-destruct all over again, going so far as to challenge board staff on Planet Feedback. In fact, that person is indirectly responsible for this rule in the CS TOS:

Well I've been around for a while and never posted something on PFB, now have I?

I'd be kind of interested to read that complaint though. It sounds entertaining.

Actually, that rule was one I inherited from Mr Slugger back in the day.

To clarify, that member was not, technically unbanned.
She found a way to take advantage of a post-hack board to sneak back in.
We did realize after a few posts that it was her, and could have booted her, but we chose to leave the rope for her to hang herself, which she did.

              She really wasn't unbanned, though.

There was actually one member reinstated, and it was still under the old ownership and before my time as mod, so I don't know the details, but I believe he was allowed back in because the conditions of his original banning were based on shaky circumstances. (I could be wrong.)

I so wanna read some of her posts now...call it morbid curiosity, if you will.

                What's a post-hack board? I've never heard of it.

That would probably be a word I coined for use in the post. I doubt it's recognized by Webster's or anything else.

It would be comprised of "post" meaning "after" and "hack" being the trashing of the board by unauthorized sources, which would then mean, a board after a hack.

You see, when the board was hacked, all databases were lost, including banned IP addresses, so she was able to register undetected.
Her posting style and life story gave her away.

Board got hacked. New board put up in place - completely fresh database. Post-hack is what was there before the hack occurred.

Ooh, I get it now. I thought you meant; a board where people figure out how to hack other boards. Now I understand. Exactly how many of these have been perpetrated against CS.com. I remember reading about more than one...

Mr S went through a few - I wasn't here for most of them. In the five or so years (maybe more like four - would have to check) since I took over, there's been two or so. Currently, thanks to GBM and Pedersen, the server's been stable and undamaged that we know of for approximately three years.

I've mostly stayed out of this thread to see what others have to say.

I'm paying a moderate shitload of money to run the site - that's a server lease plus associated licence costs for software. What do I want from it?

I get a lot of pleasure from just coasting through threads and people being helped by others.

Do I want something where anything goes and new members have to face trial by fire? No.

Do I want something where we rewrite and sanitise every post going? No.

I don't want something overly contentious. I don't want it too restrictive.

What I want is something where I can say I made a change, where I can say I made an improvement to peoples' lives.

I think we're doing something along those lines.

I'm not embarassed by what the team has achieved.

I'll always feel like CS/Fratch are home to me. I was a member on a very lightly moderated board before I found CS, and that lack of moderation is really not all it's cracked up to be.

While people are here rolling their eyes about the way they've been PM'ed and told to be more respectful and not nitpick and just be courteous to other members, on another site, moderators JOIN IN on the bashing and trashing of members who have the minority opinion or everyone else sees suck that the OP doesn't. Even the higher up mods condone and join in on the full on flaming.

You know, it's not just the "newbies" who got chased away.

I know for a fact that one longstanding member rarely if ever bothers to post anymore because of nitpicking and failing to see the suck on posts they made.

The person worked in a field that does get its share of criticism, and posts ended up being critiqued as, "Well, I can see the customer's point. Those services are really expensive and nobody likes to deal with (blah, blah, blah...)"

In fact, the one final incident that drove this person away was a post where the member complained about a customer being racist.

Despite the fact that this member stated being very familiar with the customer, and having waited on this person for as long as they worked there, and had seen and heard numerous other racial slurs in that time, members ended up tearing apart the thread because they felt the OP was being too sensitive about the choice of word the customer used. It became a debate about whether the term used was really all that racist, and whether that customer really was all that sucky, or was the OP just being overly sensitive?

To be honest, I don't recall this person ever making another post, despite the fact that one of their posts was actually nominated as a war story and became legendary on the board.

                              Like I said, it's a delicate balance.
