  • Men will be Men

Okay this has always bothered me for a long time.

"Guys will always check out a girl"

"Guys always think dick and fart jokes are funny"

    "Guys are immature"

"Hey it must be great being gay both of you think about and/or want sex all the time"

Can we please stop doing this? I don't have a single friend who is the male, "My name is Ug" stereotype yet we are all the masculine protect those we care about types.

We don't think dick and fart jokes are funny.

We don't have to check out every single girl or guy that walks by us.

And I am sorry but no I don't think about sex all the time or even a lot. In fact all of my female exes with one exception wanted sex more than I did.

"Typical Male behavior" like "Typical female behavior" Is a BS myth that seems to be used whenever someone says, "I don't like this"

I am a typical male so are my friends the guys that are "Men just being Men" are few and far between. Yet they are held up as the standard of what all men are like of course. Which is funny because even in Hollywood those men are mocked.

Yes a man will look at an attractive woman but typically no more or less than he would anyone else the difference is how he feels about what he sees.

Some guys all they want is sex guess what some girls that is all they want too.

Guys do believe in love and do dream about it as much as many girls.

Men being men. Don't make me laugh we are just humans being humans.

Um, fart jokes are sodding hilarious. Other than that, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

It cuts the other way, too.

      "Girls are scared of bugs/spiders"

"Girls won't do anything physical cuz they might break a nail"

"Girls are helpless and always need a man to rescue them"

And more. Believe me, it cuts both ways and there's not a lot you can do about it, cuz there are people of both sexes out there who fit the stereotypes, otherwise there wouldn't BE stereotypes.
"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."

I thought there were stereotypes so I could chose Panasonic or Sony to listen to my music on.

Anyway no you are right it's just annoying getting painted by that brush because people can't be bothered to get to know the individual.

          Bugs no, spiders yes.

Got rid of my nails so I could work.

Sick and tired of "rescuing" my male coworkers when they screw up/ forget something.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: F**k stereotypes.

You're post was needlessly difficult to read. Leave the color alone kthx.

Me thinks Wingates still have fusion_x as background.... Comes out fine on other backgrounds.

I too hate sterotypes. Alot. I don't fit many of sterotypes, cept the hero complex with death wish at times.

Still, if it was a bright color it would work on fusion_x and not the others, leave it alone, however, and everything works fine for everyone.

OT: Meh, hero complexes are a good thing IMO

Depends on your definition of a hero complex. While being a moron and trying to be a hero at the same time tends to lead to disaster, going out of your way to do the right thing is something I'd encourage, but also often labeled as a 'hero complex'.

Which is what I tend to do. Someone getting beaten on the bus for example, I grabbed said guy and pulled him off of her. Someone stole another person wallet, I chased them through the mall until I got it back.

I would define a hero complex as doing the right thing with your motivation being to be the hero to look good to get the ticker tape parade and to have people acknowledge how awesome you are.

This can lead to you getting yourself and others hurt because your trying to receive accolades and don't care how you get them. Doing the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing is good because you don't care about the recognition it's nice but that isn't why you do it.

I don't do it to be awesome. I already know I'm not awesome, and I won't get a parade. But I cant stand by and let something happen that I think is wrong.

Which is good. I am saying that doing the right thing for doing the sake of doing the right thing like your saying you do is good.

A hero complex is doing the right thing for the wrong reason to be the hero to look like the good guy regardless of whom gets hurt or what happens. A hero complex if unchecked leads to the person putting themselves in and creating situations where they get to swoop in.
