  • offers for UNLIMITED X .... up to limit Y!

I keep seeing offers for unlimited things such a data plans for cell phones and pizza toppings. It really bothers me to then see a limit applied especially numeric!

Such as the unlimited data plan for cell phones being 5GB, ok maybe it a high limit for most phones but still it is in fact A LIMIT, so please stop saying unlimited

Now to pizza, I', sure that unlimited toppings up to 4 really pisses me the fuck off especially when you count steak as 2 toppings, meaning if I want steak I can get two other things on my unlimited pizza, I would go with a * saying, no double toppings, that is cool but putting a numeric limit that doesn't let me even put 1/3 of the possible toppings on a pizza really really bothers me.

I wish corporations would have someone in legal get out a dictionary and learn what unlimited means!!!

Well, the pizza deal was once explained to me. Yeah, it seems contrived and stupid, but the whole unlimited means that you can indeed get unlimited toppings *up to limit of 4* but you can get whatever toppings you want, and you can also get several pizzas. Rather then just a set limit of one pizza with your choice of toppings, and the rest must be the specialitys of pizza parlor.

That being said, most pizza place I've been to have always been pretty good on not having a topping limit. They might add a little charge like 50 cents, but it's pretty minor, and helps with the cost so that they can keep doing it.

Everything costs money sadily, and those deals cannot last forever. Because you do get those people, those awesome customers that scream unlimited toppings, which means they want every topping, stacked two feet high. (I seen that at a Pizza Hut. The man demanding his unlimited toppings to be all the toppings in the store).

Usually after the 5gb is reached it's still "unlimited"-you just get a major speed reduction-but your service isn't cut off-so yes it is still unlimited.

and the pizza one would be unlimited choices/combinations-so it is grammatically correct-remember words have more than one definition.

unlimited-Having or seeming to have no boundaries

does that definition not fit? especially when you look at it as unlimited choices, English is a tricky language....
