I swore that I was going to ignore this post, but it pisses me right off.
Being that I weigh 280 though most don't even come close when they guess my weight. First of all I have POS so just not eating "Twinkies" is not going to help me lose weight, secondly I have been pregnant for the last 2 years minus like 3 months. With those three months being near death and then very limited with what I could do.
I also knew a kid in grade school that hung himself to get away from the taunts and jeers not only from his peers but their parents and even some teachers. Lardo, fatass, stupid, gross, ugly, smelly all these taunts were tossed at him. Those of us who got to know, the few we were, Learned that he had a serious medical condition and there was nothing they could do for him at that time.
I worked at Walmart and I am sorry most plus shit looks like granny wear.. true they are getting a bit better in some places.. But I am sorry I can not afford to go to Lane Bryant for cloths, not to mention as others have said most plus cloths seem to be a generic mold.. If I get pants that fit my hips they don't fit my waist. And shirts omg do they not realize that there are some people that have huge tits... for cripes sake I am a freaking size F do you know what they don't just have my bra size lying around..
And shirts that fit my tits don't fit other places shirts that fit other places dont fit my tits...
I just love when some twiggy twit tells me I am fat and should diet. I use my friends mother's response." Do you know if I have tumors? Do you know if I have a fatal disease? No? Then stfu and learn what manners are. If all you see is me being fat you can kindly fuck off."
I looked up POS, even in disambiguation, and couldn't come up with anything related to weight, Kimmik. Would you mind telling us (who don't know) what that stands for?
I'm plus sized, and finding clothes that fit sucks. I remember when asian-inspired clothing was fashionable a few years ago. Now, for the record I love many styles of asian clothing and textiles. I own actual kimono, a couple of sari, and an african tunic and pants set.
So with asian inspired stuff being in fashion, you would think I was happy, right? Well no, actually. Almost none of that stuff got made for us big girls. Designers figured us fat chicks had no use for anything with mandarin collars, pretty brocade or frog buttons.
I sew, and I'm pretty good at it. But even the pattern section of the fabric store was of little help to me. Again, the pattern books were full of asian inspired finery. But virtually none of that was made for us. Even today, I look in the plus sized section of the pattern books, and I see page after page of...tents! Tent-like tops, tent-like dresses. Gah! I don't want a freaking tent! And it's hard to find costume patterns which I can play with. Very little of that stuff gets made in our sizes either. I've seen some awesome costume patterns come out in recent years, which are practically theatrical-level costuming brought home. But again, none of that gets made for us. Most of the larger costume patterns, which few exist, are exactly that- cheap halloween costumes.

It's usually shortened to PCOS. Probably why it didn't come up on a search.
Point to Ponder:
Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?
I went to an Avenue and didn't really care for it. The online selection was okay, but when I went to a store it was all really frumpy.
IDR -- Fashion Bug Plus is one of the shops (was in our area) we tried to find clothes for my Ex and their selection at the time (maybe 10 or so years ago) was not all that great AND their prices were high. so we had to rely on specific smaller plus sized speciality stores whose prices were still high but they carried a wider variety of styles
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.
I got one foot on a banana peel and the other in the Twilight Zone.

Racket_Man: I found an awesome Maxi Dress at the Fashion Bug that was long, but not too long on my 5'3" frame. You can find onlije coupons thqat you can use in the store. At the local Safeway store, when they print out coupons at the register, I end up getting at least one or two $10 off either a $15 or
$25 dollar purchase. I also did some in-store modeling for them, and got 40% off my entire purchase. The clothing has really changed in the 10 years you and gf went there.
Admin - Got another maxi dress from Avenue. It was $34.99 or so. It's gorgeous and fits me really good too. Every store has frumpy stuff. The clearance sales are awesome though. And I love the fact that their petite pants have a 29" inseam. (some places have been putting their petite inseams at around 27" and that's too short for me, but they keep their average @ 31" and that's too long for me). So for me, they have a loyal customer.

Rum, yeah I shop at both of those places too. With Avenue, you have to hit their sales to get a price that fits my budget. And Fashion Bug is hit or miss in the style area, but tend to have really awesome prices and their sales kick ass. When you have been laid off and the only money that comes in goes right to food, rent, and bills, you wish you could go to Walmart and pay $5 for a shirt that fits and looks good. But, again, Walmart caters to the smaller sizes. I need some new "interview clothes" but the stores I can shop in haven't really had any decent sales as of late.
Thanks Muses, but sadly they aren't here in the states. I wish they were or at least allowed online purchasing. They do have some nice clothes and they aren't that expensive.
Ah yeah, I'm never sure of what we have up here compared to down there. We don't have things like Lane Bryant, though we do have similar stores (addition elle, Penningtons), they're pretty expensive though. What I hate personally about shopping for clothes is that I'm kind of in between sizes, so nothing quite fits properly, and I don't have the money to take everything to be tailored, and I swear they think people are 6'+ tall, cause all of the pants I buy are far too long, and I'm 5'7".
