I've found quite a few nice dresses in high street stores like BHS and M&S, surprisingly. Even my current shape is by no means the so called ideal; I have big hips and big boobs, and I struggle to find dresses and trousers that fit my hips and bust. A lot of shops seem to be labouring under the delusion that all women are shaped the same, and also that all women are shaped like twelve year old boys. -.- Same goes for bra manufacturers; it always used to irritate me how they provided nice bras only for small breasted women, and ugly boulder holders for large breasted women. Only recently has this trend stopped and I've been able to buy nice large bras.

I've met far more smelly fat people then smelly not fat people and the fat people universly smell worse.

So maybe instead of just badmouthing the "smelly, fat chick", maybe we can think of her as a person,
I am thinking of her as a person. A person who smells and cannot be bothered to dress properly.

I think she works at Walmart.
      Thats not true

Indeed. I wonder if she can provide a citation for that?

That's like me saying 'Milk chocolate tastes better than dark chocolate'.

May be my opinion, but it's hardly a factual statement.

Seriously flawed, just like the rest of her opinions and assertations about 'fat' people.

shrugs most of the people I see going into fast food places, buying junk food in stores etc are skinny.

It amuses me that if I grab one candy bar these people will give me a "jeez like you need anymore" look even though it is the first one I have eaten in a year (not exaggerating)

I don't know a lot of people with weight that are so because of eating junk usually it's because they work a job where they sit at a desk for 8 hours a day and don't always have the time to workout.

You know, it was always the skinny people that bought most of their crap food on welfare.

Overweight people tended to buy more milk, water, diet soda, and frozen dinners and only a candy bar or two versus the five-six candy that skinny people did. They also rarely used welfare.

So, in other words, you're generalizing.

If you've met 20 fat people and 15 of them smell, but there's thousands upon thousands of fat people out there who don't, of course YOU'RE the one who's right.

So that makes it perfectly fair to make a blanket, sweeping statement about how it's mostly fat people who smell.

                  Nice.

The smelliest people I deal with at work are either the little old ladies who marinate in their perfume, or the scrawny stoners.

When I run the pharmacy, I will refuse to sell pain meds to people who reek of pot so bad, I get a contact high just by handling your precription. You will be forced to go home and shower first.

It makes me sad to see this stupid thread last as long as it has.

Stereotypical generalizations are mean-spirited. Particularly when one is so biased originally.

What if I said something like "All Christians are a bunch of hypocrites, especially the 15 out of 20 of whom I've met."

I know I haven't posted here in a long time, but I just have to jump in on this (and hopefully not derail the thread, eek!)

I realize overweight people catch shit from skinny people about being fat, and that sucks, especially when a person can't help but to be big (due to health conditions, genetics, etc). But it does happen the other way around. Take my situation, for instance. I'm female, 6 feet tall, and 135 pounds, I eat like a hog, don't work out/exercise, and try as I might, never gain an ounce. It's frustrating because I hate being this size.

Now when I get comments like, "You better start eating or you'll waste away!" and "Are you anorexic?", well, makes me rage. (and guess what, it was textbook fat people saying shit like this!) First of all, there is a huge difference between anorexic, and being thin. You can't see all the bones in my body. I don't starve myself. I couldn't fit into a size 0 pants if my life depended on it. So piss off with the anorexic/wasting away comments. (obviously not directed at anyone here)

I don't see why anyone would want to be my size. I also get people who are all, "Gee, I wish I was as tall and skinny as you!" Yeah. No you don't. Good luck finding pants long enough, and small enough in the waist. Good luck wearing high heel shoes; you'll look like a dude being that tall.

So, on behalf of the skinny folk out here, sorry that some of us feel the need to make fun of fat people. But it goes both ways, and though it may happen a little less often towards the skinny people, it doesn't make it hurt any less.

I met only one overweight person in my life who smelled horrible. And that was because someone who only showers once a week will smell terrible whatever their weight is.

According to my testimony, Mr. Panda, 9/10 overweight people smell fine. But I assume you'll have an answer for why my opinion is less valid than yours.

Sorry about that I know people of all sizes can be idiots. I have had friends and coworkers that have had to eat a ton of food just from being dangerously underweight because their metabolisms were overactive.

I would recommend saying this to people accuse you of not eating enough, "Well when you put down the Twinkies and the ho hos I will start eating more." Hell if they are going to stereotype you then you might as well stereotype right back.

I used to have a very high metabolism in Junior High and knew a couple of guys that didn't who were overweight I was always having to defend them by pointing out that I ate twice as much food as they did on a daily basis.

I don't know where people got that people are only fat or skinny because of how much or how little they eat but I suspect a lot of people need to go back to school and pay attention this time.
