Exactly. You are picking a group and extrapolating it to everyone that isn't part of the group.
And using that logic displayed here I'll take it one step further, everyone who uses the term "pig" to refer to police is a follower of Charles Manson.I am a sexy shoeless god of war!
Minus the sexy and I'm wearing shoes.

What?? How.. HUH?
Wow. I guess all those jokes that kids in school would scream they smell bacon when cop comes by, or that Chief Wiggum on Simpsons looks like a pig, or how growing up, my family would go off on pigs on a dime, even though I was constantly told to rely on them for help if I ever was being chased or I was told to dial 911 if any of my family got shot in the home.
Just wow. So many years, so many people of people calling cops Pigs, they were in fact calling police, police killers? Is that... right?
I have alot of respect for alot of cops. Not all cops. Especally since Portland Police are rift with corrption and racists. (Seriously... only in Portland, can police beat a homeless man in the police shelter for no reason, and get in very little trouble. Only in Portland can police shoot amd kill a naked black man on fire, screaming for help, because he MIGHT have a weapon. Only in Portland do they send dozens and dozens of SERT, snipers, armored cars, canine units etc, for a single black teen who has a tiny handgun that was thinking suicide. When it's a white man, its only one or two cops that come. Only in Portland is it legal for a Captain of the force to pepperspray a baby in the face, because hey, their mom was being loud.
Not all cases are bad though. Alot of people were giving some cops beef for tasering a 13 year old girl, and another cop for hitting a women.
Both those cases were filmed of course, and it doesn't matter that for the 14 year old girl having a weapon ( a knife?), and was damn near 6 feet already and a good 200+ lbs of muscle. As for the women being hit? It was a single cop against another women that hit him first, and he was surronded by these girls many many friends of both genders. He was in his rights to defend himself, especally since several of the videos shown was he only hit her after he was hit by her first and she was trying to grab his gun.
There are alot of good cops in Portland. Some have came in to help me with shoplifters. Some even joked around with me before, such as coming in after a robbery "So Plaidman, what's your address again, or should I just flip back through my notes...?"
(Or him and other cops laughing at one tape of me fighting off a much larger man that was trying to kill me) WOOO! Look at the little guy go! Ahh... I mean, Plaidman... I know he came around the counter, and the emergny line was busy... but ya gotta be careful man"Toilet Paper has been "bath tissue" for the longest time, and it really chaps my ass - Blas

I do like the concept of the 5th Amendment, but that does not change that it has been used far too many times as a means of protecting the guilty.
And if by those like me, you mean law abiding citizens, then yes... criminals though...
Oh, and as far as going without police protection for a month, most Utahns already know, if you are in trouble, you protect yourself, the cops here can't help you.Last edited by smileyeagle1021; 07-14-2010, 08:40 AM."I'm Gar and I'm proud" -slytovhand

Sheesh, y'all are sooooo young!

An excerpt from the above article:
If you thought the term pig arose in the 1960s, you're in for a surprise. The OED cites an 1811 reference to a "pig" as a Bow Street Runner--the early police force, named after the location of their headquarters, before Sir Robert Peel and the Metropolitan Police Force (see above.) Before that, the term "pig" had been used as early as the mid-1500s to refer to a person who is heartily disliked.
The usage was probably confined to the criminal classes until the 1960s, when it was taken up by protestors. False explanations for the term involve the gas masks worn by the riot police in that era, or the pigs in charge of George Orwell's Animal Farm.
While police officers usually don't mind being called "cops," they aren't usually fond of the term "pig." A policeman's lot is not an 'appy one.
I started hearing about the term "pig" in the 60s during the war protests.

Charles Manson, the infamous American serial killer derived personal meaning from many songs of The Beatles White Album . "Piggies" was used in particular to justify attacks on the White establishment, with the lyrics "what they need's a damn good whacking" reflecting the attacks on Blacks in what Manson envisioned would be an apocalyptic race war. During the murders of Sharon Tate, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, Gary Hinman and others, the words 'political piggy', 'pig' and 'death to pigs' were written with the victims' blood on the walls. In the case of the LaBianca murders, knives and forks were actually inserted into the victims in reference to the lyric "Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon".
nope nothing about the police there-maybe you should um ya know fact check before spouting off nonsense......
and another source of the same info-those offered by Prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, based on his interviews with several Manson Family members-listing Manson interpretations of other Beatles songs-in case you "don't trust Wiki"Last edited by BlaqueKatt; 07-15-2010, 12:49 AM.
