  • Spoilers.

More specifically not the information itself, but the people who like to ruin things for other people.
This may sound trivial to some, but when something is coming about that others are excited about, the biggest dick move anyone can pull is to spoil the movie/book/TV show/whatever.
Some people, like me, really look forward to certain things that can be (and usually are) spoiled, and when some jerk-off ruins what we've been waiting for it makes the whole wait for naught.
Yeah you still get the rest of the experience, but knowing the ending takes away the all-important mystery factor.

A lot of times online you'll see things like "Spoiler Alert" for threads, blog posts, etc., which is as courteous as I think you can get, but that can't be translated into every day life.
I don't get a "spoiler alert" from the people walking out of the theatre who think it's funny to shout out the ending to the movie I, and many others, are waiting in line to see.

Perhaps one day I'll be a millionaire when I invent a device that allows people to bitch slap others over the internet.
Until then I'll have to settle for seething rage and violent fantasies for both the people who do this online, and the ones who do it in person.

Anyone who thinks tossing out spoilers is funny should go slam their face into a wall.
That's about how funny it is.

Tell me about it. Years ago, I went out with a bunch of friends to see a movie, that was a book originally. One of the guys I was with had read the book, and five minutes into the movie, announced to the rest of the group, "That's the killer!"

There was almost another murder that day.

On a related note, we literally have people all over the world from CS, and here as well, I'm sure. And while other parts of the world get a lot of the same TV shows as we do here in the States, they may be weeks behind us. One of the former mods, who was in Australia, once got so pissed about people spoiling the shows for her that hadn't aired there yet, that they threatened to start deleting posts if people didn't start putting spoiler tags in the titles.

I've had to pull people off of my IM and various friends lists because they just couldn't wait to hop on and tell me "X character dies in the sequel/next episode/book!"

Gee, thanks for that. And a lot of this kept up after I'd told them to STOP spoiling
