  • Dragging things out....

At my job, we have no set schedule. We leave when we're done. Sometimes we're out at 11am, sometimes we're out at 11pm. During this time of year, business is just average so we're usually out around 3-4 p.m. That's fine.

Except...people keep working deliberately slow just to get more hours. Fuck you people!!!!! Not that I mind working...if there's work to do. If there's 12 hours of work to do, I have no problem with it.

But I have a major problem with doing 6 hours of work over an 8 hour period. There's no need for it! We'll be getting the hours soon enough - business picks up in the winter, and a 12 hour day is considered short. So i'd just assume get out of work at noon while the weather is nice and we have the ability to do so.

    HURRY THE HELL UP!

Ugh. I'm starting to think people are over-reacting about our workload just to keep us on mandatory weekend overtime, because right now, we are stepping on one another and fighting for work, and still have to work every other effing weekend.

Look, extra money is great. It really is. But we need a damn break. Let the "team players" work all the overtime they want, but can't we get a voluntary week, just once?

I was in that once, and I asked the team lead of what's stopping us from just working slower so we get more pay. The response?

"I have to be at two sites tomorrow morning and am going to be tired enough as it is. If I find out you're stalling, I will personally shoot you. That enough incentive?"

(Never really applied to me, I was just curious. Did like the answer though.)
