I consider myself a reasonably honest person. I come across as blunt or rude sometimes because I, on occasion, fail to be diplomatic when I instruct people or tell them something. Now, I freely admit that I tell white lies and such when the occasion calls for it, but I would prefer to be honest all of the time.
That said, today I was asked to tell a lie, or more correctly, to keep the truth from someone-my mother. It's her birthday in a few days and we're getting her an e-Book reader. However, due to a problem arising when she was cooking dinner, we had to ask my brother (heading home) to pick up both the present and some spaghetti. However, he could only do one or the other. This led to me trying to figure out a solution between my brother, my mother and my father-all the while keeping the knowledge of what was keeping my brother occupied (the gift) from my mother.
And now everyone's pissed off and I'm praying Lord to deploy me.
