No no, I'm not talking about the act itself, I'm talking about the idiocy I see with the social stigmas regarding it.

I'm in my mid 20's. Never had sex, and not really interested. However, I have nothing against those who do take part, provided they are being responsible about the matter. But yet, since I'm not doing it, that somehow makes me a lesser person. Am I missing out on something good? Maybe, but from my point of view, I don't feel like I'm missing out on life. There's lots more adventures to be had than a roll in the sack. And If I do live to regret it? Well, that's MY own damn fault, and no one else.

And at the same time, many people in my age group and younger seem to have this mentality that the thought of their parents still having sex is disturbing. So you're supposed to have a ton of sex in your teens and 20's but can't when you're older? WTF? My parents have been married over 30 years now, and I'm 95% sure they're still getting it on on a regular basis. Frankly, I think that's awesome. Yes they have their squabbles, but in the end, they're still a happy committed couple and if they want to screw around in their own house, who the hell is anyone to say they shouldn't? Besides, I don't really see a reason to be offended by the though of my parents having sex, because well, it's how I got here, isn't it?

Add to the above .. stereotypes about it. A guy isn't supposed to be with a female older then him. A guy who enjoys sex is a 'stud', but if a woman does...well..

Then there is the issue of nudity. Which is a whole different fratch. There is nothing wrong with not desiring sex.

Not having sex does not make you a lesser person just like having a ton of sex does not make you a lesser person, (unless you're a prostitute) everyone has different views on whether or not to have sex but you don't force those views on other people. I wasn't pressured into losing my virginity and the people doing that to you are stupid assholes, as for having sex when you're old I hope I'm 80 and still doing it. No reason why I can't fully enjoy my last years of life.

best not tell Mr Katt that-he'd laugh in your face-mainly because he pursued me due to the fact that 90% of the girls in his age group when we started dating(and in our city)-were shallow and very materialistic.

I don't think prostitutes are lesser people-why should the job/career someone chooses* make them a lesser person?

*those who don't make the choice and are forced into it are obviously not lesser people so why should someone that says "hey this is what I want to do for a few years to make a living" be any different?

Agreeing with BK on the Prostitute issue.

Sex only makes someone a lesser person if they take it by coercion or force.

Sex is overrated anyway. I've had a fair amount of sex in my life, and honestly, doing it myself is frequently a lot better. Not putting anyone down, it's just that until psychic link technology is developed I'll never find anyone who can do it as good as I can.

Maybe among the older population, women are the only ones considered sluts if they hook up with tons of guys, but when I was in college the past four years, no one cared who hooked up with tons of people. Guy or girl, it made no difference.

It really depends on the campus of course ours considered both sides sluts, so i guess it works out.

The one freshman dorm was call the Zoo because of how crazy things would go down, of course that includes things other than sex. but I know of at least one girl that traveled down the hall going room to room seeing if anyone wanted to fuck if she got turned down by the previous room.

Age shouldn't be an issue for either sex (well within reason..ie underage children of course). If two people, any two people, can find happiness with each other..then more power too them.

I think it's not that kids believe their parents shouldn't be having sex. They just don't want to know about it or think about it.

Yeah, that's a mental image that I DO NOT WANT, sorry. Of course, I think my folks have moved to the "once a year" category anyway.

Sex is great, I'm an advocate. Masturbation is great, too, and women..ALL women should be able to give themselves an orgasm. But given the option between the two, of course I would rather have sex with my fiance than get myself off.

I'm also one of those people who....I just can't imagine going around screwing everything that you can. I mean, more power to you for being sexually liberated or whatever, but sex=emotional attachment for me.

I was talking about the people who do it willingly, they are trading their bodies for money. To me I see that as they have no dignity or self respect, seeing as they don't care who they have sex with. To me you should only have sex with someone you love, not just fuck any creepy disgusting sex addict pervert for $20 because you want to fill your wallet. The people who are forced into it I feel truly sorry for, I hope they somehow find a way out of that hell safely.

Why should everyone have to abide by your view of sex? I'm just curious, but because you believe you should only have sex with someone you love, everyone should only have sex with people they love?

If that's the case, then I'm already a bad person. I've never prostituted myself, but I have had sexual partners in the past that I liked, we got along, they were good looking, but I sure as heck didn't love them. But that was my choice. Why is that wrong?

I'm not trying to force anyone to live by my standards, look if they want to make money by having sex then they should at least do porn that way it's perfectly legal. I'm not going to say that I've never gone down on some of the guys I've dated, but my standards and views have changed over the last couple of years. And I wasn't judging you I was judging them, completely different.

Why? Is doing porn ethically superior simply because it's legal? Is that the entire premise of your argument? Because it's essentially the same thing - getting paid to have sex. So why is it so repugnant for someone to be a prostitute versus a porn star?
