    ....over something trivial.

Now, I understand that everyone has a breaking point or has a bad day, and everyone has had moments and things they've said that they aren't proud of.

Having said that, I also firmly believe some people just need to learn some self control and when to stop flapping their freaking gums, especially when it is not something worth going on and on about.

This could kind of relate to the thread about people freaking out for no reason, but it's a tad different.

What sparked this tirade, you ask?

    Work, of course.

I had to go into another room to summon a coworker (don't you love having to play messenger?) for my shift lead who was too busy, I guess. Anywho.

I overheard two women talking about something "going around". Unfortunately, one of my flaws is that I eavesdrop on people who look like they are trying to hide something or talk crap.

So I kindly butt in and ask "What's going around, please don't tell me we've already had a flu outbreak?!"

One woman answered me (well, the best I can remember) "Well, it's like the flu. It's something horrible. And some people on our shift in particular seem to think that they shouldn't get enough sleep on their days off and come in to work sick anyway! I mean, these people are coming to work coughing and sounding like Hell and getting all of us sick! And then you ask what they did on their days off and they went out and did this and did that! And most of them aren't even taking anything for it and won't see the doctor! Oh I am just about at my wits end listening to the coughing and the hacking and I had to start bringing sanitizer and wipes to work because everyone is so adament on coming to work like Walking Death, so I have to disinfect every area I walk into, just so that I won't end up like them. I suppose it's probably too late and it's probably festering inside of me already! But at least unlike them, I'll be sleeping on my days off and fighting it. Oh, and management here doesn't even seem to care that people are coming to work sick! It seems they'll only send you home IF you throw up, but you can hack all you want all over everyone your entire shift and still get to stay! If they don't want to leave, they don't have to. Bullshit. They are going to get everyone sick and then this place will get even worse!"

I had to excuse myself and walk away, in fear that another few minutes would pass and she'd still be yapping away. When I walked back into the room, I still had bug eyes from my initial reaction of "Wow.....talk talk talk talk talk talk"

I can understand some of her points, but she just went on and on and on and on and on and on and on, just rambling and ranting about people being sick and coming to work.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about it, I'm starting to sneeze a lot and my throat is a bit tickly, I was even warned last night that everyone on 2nd shift is sick and half of them aren't even there because they are so sick, but wow....just wow. Just keep talking, maybe someone will listen to you when you calm the hell down and talk like a reasonable person.

and of course if she is sick all her talking is passing it on too
Repeat after me, "I'm over it"
    Yeah we're so over, over
Things I hate, that even after all this time...I still came back to the scene of the crime

There are several people like that at my workplace. One of them is a really sweet lady, and she means well, and her heart is in the right place, but . . . complaining, ugh. The other day she kept going on and on and saying the same thing over and over about how our workplace is in a conspiracy with the way they have such a large turnover, because the government pays them $1000 for every new hire. I dunno if that's true, but I couldn't give a rat's fart if it is, because it doesn't really concern me one way or the other. I've just learned not to hang around people who flap like that, even if I do like them otherwise.

As for coming to work sick . . . people kind of have to. Lots of sickies at Volde-Mart lately, because they can't afford the point they get for calling in, and people need paychecks, that's all there is to it.

It's even worse when you have a coworker who won't shut up about anything. The only thing that tops that is a manager who endlessly repeats himself over and over and over ad in-fucking-finitum. I think every workplace has people like that...

And about coming in to work sick, maybe the ones that're doing that are the 'I'd rather get sent home than call in' crowd. I'm like that, I work with a few people that're like that, and a few of my friends do the same thing.

There's a girl in my Belegarth realm that does this. You ask her a simple short answer question and she gives you her life story, including things that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject.

Here is a real life example, I shit you not:

My now boyfriend (who was not my boyfriend then), a good friend of ours, and I were visiting our "Foam Fighting Mom" in the hospital. BF texts this girl to ask her to get a hold of another friend of ours about something, since BF didn't have his number. He gets a text back saying:

"Well,I've driving around all day in (big city next to us) and I have been so busy with being around my family and oh yeah, I sent that text to K."

          *facepalm*

This woman is about the worst I've seen beyond Drunken Victim.

I love life story people, too. They are just treasures.

There's been a change to the tax law that allows an employer to claim up to a $1k tax credit on SSI if that employee has been unemployed for more than 60 days prior to being hired. The employee can not be related to the employer and some other restrictions. This credit only applies to the employers part of SSI the employee still has to pay their entire share.
There is also another $1k tax credit if the employee is retained for one year. It's part of my job to find ways to save my company and our customers money in regards to payroll.
Starting at the first of the year you will start paying federal withholding tax (income taxes) on your medical benefits and unless it's stopped when the Bush tax cuts expire on Dec 31 at the very least your FIT will increase from 10% to 15%. Just all kinds of hopey and changey going on.

I do that. I often go into conversational loops where I repeat myself if I'm angry or stressed. It's a feature of my Aspergers. Luckily, my friends and family know how to steer me off them. XD

I don't run my mouth uncontrollably, but it does take me a while to say what I want....and usually people cut me off or interrupt me. Sorry, I'm Southern and we're storytellers.

I talk to myself at home, sometimes in the car. I don't deny it. In fact, I can ramble on for so long, that it can take forever to do the simplest of tasks because I get going so bad, especially if it's been an overly stressfull week at work or if someone like a friend or my bf has really pissed me off. I'm so glad I live alone, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this. Some people say it's a sign of mental problems, I think it's a healthy way to let it all out and not hurt anyone or say the wrong thing. A blog/diary wasn't private enough, and didn't express me in the way I wanted. So I just babble.

I have a hard time if I need to tell a story around others, if I'm in the company of my bf or certain friends who don't comprehend to not interrupt people, and then I get sidetracked and the story goes completely off kilter.

I regularly talk to myself as I think most folks do. Now my wife thinks if you are watching a funny show by yourself and something funny happens and you laugh then it's time for the luney bin. I contind that funny is funny regardless of company.
I have a friend that talks to himself. He has regular two-way conversations and occaisonally three and fours ways. He says that's not crazy but when you have to say "Huh, what'd you say?" then it's time for Bugs and the straight-jack gun.

Tansai, then your wife would think that I am crazy. I don't laugh very often when watching something funny, but when it is extremely funny, I will laugh.
