  • Hating the Yankees Because They Spend Money

All these people whine that the Yankees are only good because they spend money. Maybe you should just be pissed because your team's owner just pockets the money instead.

In 2009, the Yankees organization made $375 million and they spent $208 million on their roster, over 55%.

In 2009, the Indians made $181 million and spent $67 million, only 37%. Marlins spent a whopping 27% on their roster.

Complain that your owner is cheap and is just trying to make a profit instead of winning.

I just ignore the Yankee hate.....hating on teams is silly, but part of the fun of sports.

My bf always says that Yanks "buy" their teams, have to much $$$, yadda yadda. But then again....he is a Mets fan. *evil grin*

That means he's just got a bad case of sour grapes. After all, the Mets are the only team that tried to buy a perfect team.... and still sucked. "The Worst Team Money Can Buy".

Picking a team in a sport with a salary caps isn't the best of examples.

These figures are completely meaningless unless you are speaking specifically of profits.

I don't quite care enough to actually look into it, myself.

From the link I used, it was profits.
