I don't think they should go to college. I think they should be forced to sit in a plain cell with just enough food to keep them alive. No opportunity for parole. The "taxpayer's money" argument is a wash because it actually costs more to execute someone than to keep them alive.

I wouldn't mind paying extra money if it meant that violent murderers finally got their just desserts instead of buffing up and getting free college education and time to plot for what to do when they get out early for "good behavior".
I don't like to see my tax dollars supporting prisoners with luxuries that I can't afford. Mainly, college. Sure, they don't get to go outside and go to the store and the club and to the movies, but they get three square meals a day and clean clothes and air conditioning. Even that is up in the air as to if I get that or not, considering my bad luck with AC this past summer. I was at a point where I couldn't always eat, the last time I was laid off and had my hours cut.
I will whole heartedly agree with you on the college thing, Admin, and the just enough to keep them alive and no parole, if the death penalty is not an option. But for all things holy, stop giving murderers the opportunity for parole.

As far as prisoners getting an education, it's part of the rehabilitation. It's so when they get out of jail, they have an option that isn't crime.
Then when they get out of jail, they still have to mark down on resumes that they are felons and they won't get the job you may be after.Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst. - Starship Troopers

some one on death row shouldnt be getting a higer education, books to read and learn from I;m ok with, the whole education so they have something when on parole so they don't reoffend shouldnt apply to death row as they unless proved innocent later, shouldnt be up for it
we're gonna kill you even if its by old age
you're only getting out of here in a box

To those of you that are for the death penalty I ask this. Does it bother you that there have been people who after they were executed were later found to be innocent? This is one huge reason why I'm against the death penalty.
If you had to choose which would you rather have? A guilty man go free, or an innocent man executed? If I can't bitch, I'll explode- blas87

as we in the UK don't have corporal punishment anymore, I'm more for "in for life" which in the UK can be 5 years parole after good behaviour
It's true that msicarrages of justice happen and you can't bring someone back to life and say "oops we got the wrong man"
So I am more than willing to see life mean life, which as I say rarely means that over here anymore, only a few and thats at the home office's discression do die in jail of old age.
If it takes your family and supporters till you are 60 to prove you are innocent, atlesat you are alive when released from death row

I'm usually only for the death penalty in extreme cases. If there is good evidence for you having committed murders in three or four separate cases, you're probably guilty of at least one or two of them.
Executing a criminal is not about justice, or revenge. It's putting down a mad animal who cannot or will not be rehabilitated. People who have killed several people, especially in multiple murders, sociopaths, and the like. These people will never be "normal members of society". These are the ones who need to be put down for the public's protection. But I also believe that pedophiles should be chemically castrated and kept away from children forever.

manginas for the rapists, give the shower rapists (oh the irony) two holes to choose from
I know a guy who did time and when pushing the tea urn to the undisirables block the guards would pull it aside tell him to wait and they would take a dump in it, needless to say he knew not to use that urn for the regular inmates

With technology getting more and more advanced (and god knows forensics has tools we can only dream of) it will be easier and easier to prove someone is guilty beyond a doubt, and there will be less and less possibly innocent people being executed.
Look what happens when the death penalty gets outlawed, you have people like Charles Manson who SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXECUTED have his sentence changed to life in prison. Then when they bring back the death penalty he no longer has to worry because god forbid we should go back to his original sentence and kill the poor guy.
Fuck that nonsense. People have been stuck for decades and continue being stuck paying for that man's upkeep in prison. Why the hell is he still alive?
I'm sure it was in jest but I'm not too opposed to the hand / feet cutting off idea either.....maybe people would learn that to do a crime means actual punishment that you don't like. Instead of a free home and free meals and free college and all that other crap.https://www.youtube.com/user/HedgeTV
