The bing bar is the worst. They sneak stuff in through those updates. When that popup asked me if I wanted to install it, I clicked no, but clicking no would not let me continue. Those bastards rigged it so that I had to install it to do anything. Low and behold, it contained spyware. Thanks a lot bing!
My mom has like 5 or 6. I hid them all except for one. She asked me what happened to her screen and why did they go away. I told her and she was upset. I asked her if she used them and she said no.
Sigh.

It's what I use. It's so much faster than the other browsers. My mom gets so confused when she can't find the IE browser icon on my laptop.

That's what gets me: even if each of them has some feature or other you like, put them all together and it takes up too much screen space. Especially, on modern computers, because it's height. It wouldn't be as bad if they only took a little width instead
I still like Safari. The title bar, a strip the same height for the address, back/forwards buttons, and search, and another a bit shorter for bookmarks. Even the tab row goes away unless there is more than one.
(and what drives me up the wall more than anything else is trying to use a computer where they've gotten rid of the address bar! Why the [ahem] would you want to do that, and why is it sometimes so hard to find again?)

I went to graphic design school, you would not believe how many people still use google as an address bar. These are people who work on computers daily, DAILY! Seriously they would e-mail themselves a youtube link or something and then instead of just clicking it they would copy it into google....
Just spent the day at a relative's place, and their IE (only choice >_< ) had 3 or 4 of the stupid things. And I know they not only don't use them, but I'm pretty sure they have no idea how they got on there in the first place.

what bugs the crap outta me is when I try and install a PURCHASED piece of software (ya know I went to the brick and mortar store and bought the physical box + DVD) and I have to fight with the installation wizard to NOT install 10 pieces of crap brower helpers/toolbars, programs that are CLEARLY meant to just dump junk on your machine, pure advertising programs, internet trackers, demo-ware, etc. I swear sometimes you are not able to install the REAL program without fighting with it.
another thing that bugs me is when exiting a program, everytime it pesters me asking if I want to install some toolbar/browser helper or crap-ware program
NO NO NO NO!!!!!!! just ask me ONCE and be doen with it.
I like a minimialist browser and ONLY the programs I want. Please STFU and leave me in peace
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

Also a bunch of stupid little widgets on the desktop (browser add-ons), mostly shopping stuff. My pet peeve now is something called DealGong, every time I search for something on amazon, etc it pops up with something nowhere close to what I'm looking for.
One of these pieces of crap must be what's causing FF to die every so often...
