After reading this thread, I installed and am using Google Chrome. It took a few minutes to get used to it, but I'm really enjoying it!

That happened with a game I bought for my son when he was little. It asked to install something called "Brodcast" (shows up as DSSAgent in the registry.) It was pretty vague on what it was for, but it sounded like it wanted to track what you were doing, which I had a huge problem with. Just to make sure I didn't accidentally leave the box checked (another huge peeve of mine -- checking it by default), I completely uninstalled it and reinstalled it, making sure I unchecked the box this time. Naturally, it still installed the damn thing.
I should have written the company a nasty letter, but I'm sure they caught a lot of crap for it. The only good thing about my Vista pile of crap is that it usually foresees things and it always asks me if I'm sure or asks my permission before anything, or it warns naturally of compatability problems.......but there have been times I have specifically said not to install something (like I wanted to see something but I needed the newest Flash and didn't feel like waiting 3 hours for it to install) so I said no and it took me to the install menu and I tried to click out of it and the Wizard popped up anyway.Comment

That's what happened with the damn bing bar. I clicked cancel, but all it did was send me back to the menu box. The only way to get rid of the damn box was to install it. I disabled it, but unfortunately, the spyware is still there.Originally posted by blas87 View Post

Mom's stuck with the Bing bar. I just *LOVE* how I can send her a link, she clicks on it, and is redirected to the bing search engine cause obviously she is looking for something no where close to the direct link she had.
