*sighs* I get sick of explaining to doctors (the rare times I go) that I don't have a fever. Despite the fact that my temperature is 99.5, it is NOT abnormal..for me. Maybe a bit low, but by like a few . degrees. You would figure that as professionals they would know that not everybody is the average of 98.6. Last time I went for a broken finger. Yet I had to have a cold or such because I was 'running a fever'. No..no I am not. Every time my temperature is taken it is that temperature give or take. Every. Last. Single. Time. When I am 98.6 yeah .. I am sick. If I am over 100, good chance I am sick. 99 ish? No. NOT. A. FEVER.

Oh, that has to suck.
I don't have that problem, though, as 99 IS a fever for me. I do, however, sometimes have a problem where I have to explain that, yes I only have a fever of 99 now but it's still a problem as my fevers tend to skyrocket from 99 to like 102 within a couple hours. No one seems to believe me on that."And I won't say "Woe is me"/As I disappear into the sea/'Cause I'm in good company/As we're all going together"

I'm on the opposite side of that from you.
It used to be that to get up to 98.6°, I'd have to have a fever. But trying to explain to the nurses at school that my "normal" temperature was 97.4° and that what they were expecting to see was actually a fever was an exercise in futility.

I have an average temperature lower than 98.6. Whenever I have a different doctor or nurse take my temp and they ask how I am feeling, I tell them that I feel fine and they drop it. No inconvenience to me."You are a true believer. Blessings of the state, blessings of the masses. Thou art a subject of the divine. Created in the image of man, by the masses, for the masses. Well, if you have a temp above 99, that points to a fever. Fever points to an infection. If you have an infection and they don't try to do anything about it, it could come back to screw them over.

More doctors need to learn that we know our bodies... and while yes I dont have medical training I know when something is not right.
