Aghhhh.
So, I spent all weekend grading final papers. After a meeting and some red tape, final grades were posted this morning. Guess what my e-mail inbox looks like? *headdesk* "You posted the wrong grade on Blackboard." "You said I didn't use enough examples, but I really did! I deserve an A!" Jesus Christ on a Pogo Stick.
What's really fun is that, on the last class meeting, the professor told all of the students that if they have a question about their grades, they are to contact him *after* Christmas break. Not to e-mail us that same hour. He's even given us a basic form e-mail to send out because "you don't get paid enough to deal with that, especially right before Christmas." The professor is leaving the country today, and is going incommunicado for the entirety of the break. I'm trying to get all my shit together so that I can go home for a week. I do not have the time to deal with some whiny ass student who thinks that I unfairly gave them an A- instead of an A. Seriously, every single student (except one) got a B- or above. Cry me a freakin' river. (The one exception was failing, but I boosted his participation until he had a D-, which greatly reduces the likelihood of him ever being in my class again.)
Oh, and I actually can't discuss their grades in any kind of detail because that's a violation of federal law (FERPA). Gah! Go away and let me do my Christmas shopping!
