We knew about this almost 6 months ago, and yet people are still puntificating that they are going to quit working there, or they are going to still smoke in their cars anyway (despite a warning from the higher ups that standard discipline protocal will apply to people caught smoking and security will be watching).

I'm not the one trying to put up a fight here, I'm not in the mood anymore to fight losing battles. I'm just baffled at the things people will say without even thinking about them.
Seeing as you knew six months ago, surely your foreman could have arranged some compromise
You are not allowed to leave the premisis, compromise that as long as you don't venture from the main gate you can go out on your break.
Someone working for the workforce could have done something in all this time that would work out best for all concerned.

A designated smoke hut, if this isn't a state ruling on smoking where you are and if there is already one why is it being abolished?

We were told to use the roadside if we wanted to smoke, we never had (in the time I've been working there) an internal smoking room, just the bike shed, but we were at the road due to the delivery wagons. Yet some people have a five minute walk to get to the road side, thats coming out of their break and yet ours are the ones that flaunt it the most.
