I find that a bit of toothpaste here and there gets stuck to the sink because I may not have used it all when I brused, but since my last teeth cleaning, I've been using smaller portions because my hygenist told me it's not good to do like the commercials and slather it all over the brush. You actually only need about a pea sized amount. The brush itself is removing the plaque and tartar, not the toothpaste. Toothpaste just makes your teeth look and feel cleaner (or whiter, if it's what you use).

I wouldn't bring the subject up out of the blue like that to complain. I was making a joke/pun, nothing more.

If I'd realized it would be taken any other way, I'd have put a disclaimer... though the smiley really ought to be enough.

i've brushed outside the bathroom, but usually only when someone else is in there peeing or something like that.

though i'm with the BF now so... pretty much i've already told him that his tooth brush is sacred. i know others feel differently but... eh. can't really stand the idea of sharing a toothbrush. i like the thought that some things are personal and left as such.

but everyone has their own personal yuck for that i think

Update on the toothbrush scandal: Tired of finding it on the floor of the shower, I decided to take steps. I realized that the bathroom simply was not a good place to brush my teeth, as no one gives a shit about my toothbrush. Shower, floor, probably in the toilet at least once, and this is the thing I stick in my mouth to CLEAN IT! Which is why I don't brush my teeth as often as I should, because I can't fathom the possibility of sticking dirty ass water brush in my mouth.

So I moved the brush out into the kitchen! Even made mention of it a few times. "Hey, see, I moved my toothbrush out here so now no one has to worry about keeping it safe. You have yours in the bathroom, mine is in the kitchen."

          Awesome, right!?!?!?

Until today, I see my toothbrush...IN THE SINK! The sink with the dirty dishes.

"Hon? Why is my toothbrush in the sink?"

"Oh...was that for your teeth? When I saw it out here I assumed it was for cleaning dishes. I've been scrubbing sippy cups with it."

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!@! !!!!!!!!! So now my brush has dirty ass-penis-vagina-armpit-rust-shit-urine-used soap and ROTTEN MILK ON IT!!!!!!!

I literally want to scream. Not at anyone, but just in general. Not out of anger, but frustration. Just one more stupid thing. It's just a toothbrush, but on the other hand, it's just a fucking toothbrush and it shouldn't be this hard to take care of it!

I think I'm going to yank out my teeth with needlenose pliers so I won't have to worry about this anymore.

How about you just get a travel cover for it, then no matter where the hell it ends up (except for in the toilet, in which case I'd swap to a new one anyway), it won't get tainted.

... then again, most people don't consider how bacteria and germ-infested the inside of the human mouth is...

Yeah I know it is technically more dirty, but I think people take that the wrong way. It's just the number of bacteria, it's the kind of bacteria. I don't mind mouth germs, but I don't want e. coli and salmonella in my mouth that much.

Why would anyone even assume it's for washing dishes? That's what sponges and scrubbers are for!

I would say buy the travel cover, and at this rate, let it dry when you're done, and hide it.

                  Yep, what Blas said.^^^

I was just thinking the same thing, after reading the kitchen sink update.

Get the travel case, although it might be a bit wasteful of paper towels, use a piece of one to dry it off if you don't have time for it to air dry, (very likely), pop it on the case, and put it in your nightstand/dresser drawer.

I hope you will forgive me for laughing, nothing is sacred in your house, it seems .
You'll have to keep your toothbrush in a safe or in your pocket, nothing else will apparently do.
