You aren't allowed to light up or toss a few back "whenever you want," so why does everybody think that legalization would open some mythic floodgate? Oh, but we'd get regulation (taxes from fines to business owners, who usually have the money and interest to pay plus taxes from sales = revenue gained) and we'd get half of our prison systems emptied (no longer housing, feeding, and providing health care for millions of people = revenue not lost).

We're supposed to be a civilized society, and I really don't get why people get so bent out of shape every time someone else feels the need to remind the rest of us of that fact.
