I joined a facebook group for widows a while back when I really needed the support.
The only problem I see is that some of them claim to want support, and claim to want to move on in their grief, but it looks to me like they are becoming comfortable with their misery.
As a result, my pages are filled with all this "tragic widow" propaganda.
I don't even look at the messages, and I certainly don't click the links.
I don't want to block these people, because it's obvious they're hurting, and I do understand that everyone's grief moves at a different pace.
I just get a bit tired of it.
My nephew is gay, and I have always supported him.
Lately, though, his status updates have been a lot of bashing the small town he lives in, and a lot of "support the gay cause" type stuff.
I do understand where he's coming from, because his high school days were hell, being mocked by all these macho good ole boys, but in my opinion, what he has been posting just brings him down to their level.
I have other gay friends on my facebook as well, and I have some very religious people too.
They all post their own "propaganda"
I figure it's all a form of expression, and I don't look at it as them trying to convert me.
It's annoying, but to each their own.
I just read what I want and ignore the rest.Last edited by Ree; 01-22-2011, 04:48 PM.Point to Ponder:
Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

I had to block a friend (more, casual acquaintance) because she got obsessive over two subjects...non-circumcision and infant-led breastfeeding. Every single post of hers since her baby has been born (nearly a year now) have to do with these two subjects, how wonderful these two subjects are, and how horrible anyone who doesn't agree with these two subjects is. I share her views on circumcision. I don't necessarily share them on the infant-led breastfeeding (she advocates six and seven year olds breastfeeding still if they are not ready to give it up. I find that extremely disturbing).
She posts pictures of her son with tshirts and onesies on that boast about how intact he is (tad bit creepy), but creepier still, on christmas she posted a picture of a woman breastfeeding. Not just traditionally breastfeeding, but laying naked (you could only see the breast) in front of a christmas tree with her three or four month old reaching for the nipple.
Yeah, I agree with breastfeeding...but I also agree with privacy and discretion. Just because someone doesn't want to open their facebook and see your tit, doesn't mean they are anti-breastfeeding!

I've got a lot of friends on fb and some family that are way too religious for my tasted and basically do the "honk if you love jesus" stance and how much they pray and how they depend on god for every damn thing......I get really tired of it. But I won't ban them for it....and I hold my tounge about how it's getting old with them too. I just try to pass it by...whatever.https://www.youtube.com/user/HedgeTV
