  • Drivers not preparing for their upcoming turns

I drive as a significant portion of my job, and as a result, I get to see some of the worst driving imaginable. This morning, I had someone come from the far right lane (on a 6-lane divided street) to directly in front of me in the left lane as one action, because he wanted to get in the left-turn lane to my right. And because the turn lane started 30 feet back and was full, he stopped, as though it was reasonable to wait for another entire signal cycle to wedge himself in ahead of all of the people who had done their proper duty and gotten in the turn lane. It was only after I laid on the horn that he relented and went straight, to try to turn around past the light at a point where it's legal.

Come on, people. If you miss your turn, it's not the end of the world. Go past and turn around. Don't dive across multiple lanes, cutting off traffic, to get to your offramp or turn. Just accept the fact that you made a mistake, and do the sensible thing that doesn't inconvenience or endanger other drivers.
One mixed drink is all it takes to make me Cata-tonic!

I watch some fool nearly cream himself on a hydrostatic barrel pulling this maneuver.

We even have a name for people who do that around here.
      "*Local city* Sweep"

There are people who get off the highway and then buzz through multiple lanes of traffic to get to the next turn.

My biggest peeve lately, though, are people who are slowing down to practically a dead stop before turning, when the roads are completely clear and dry, especially on the freeway. Last night, this truck in front of me started slowing down to take the exit a good 500 feet or more before the actual exit, and the roads were perfect, and no exit around here is that curvy or bad that you have to slow down in good weather.
