I'm doing a bit of work on a newsletter for a friend of mine, basically I'm going through his work newsletter and redesigning it, making it look nice so that he can continue on with it after I'm done. The problem with this is, he doesn't have access to InDesign, fair enough him not being a designer and all, but man oh man does Microsoft publisher suck. Essentially no kerning or tracking (well I see settings but these seem to stretch characters....*sigh*), you basically have to manhandle the type to make it do what you want, and even then it doesn't really look right.
I'm glad he'll be taking over when I'm done. Seriously. *headdesk* At least it will look good on my resume. I am glad that he's given me the oppourtunity to have something other than "designed posters for random art co-op in bumfuck nowhere town" for my experience.
