Castform is my faaaaaaavourite Pokémon She's just a gimmick but I love the weather thing ^^

I hope they bring back all the mini stuff too. The musical in B W was just a pretty animation. Pokéathlon and Contests! And to a lesser likelyhood the Pokéwalker and companion Pokémon! 4th gen is still by far my favourite

The new Eevee I'd wager may be either Normal or Dragon. Normal because she fits the same level of cute as say a Wigglytuff, or Dragon because it's the only Special type that doesn't have a corresponding Eevelution. I've heard rumours/fantasies that it's a new type altogether - I hope not, because that'll mean a new type chart to learn >.<

I haven't really been on board since the original generation. But I would like to point out that hardware is long past the point where there needs to be two versions of every portable release. ;p

The hardware is also long past the point of "One save per copy of the game" but that idiotic meme still persists for Pokemon.

          Seriously? Wow. >.>

Whatever it takes to force people to buy multiple copies I guess.

I don't mind Castform either. It's just the artwork made me giggle.

I've occasionally used Castform as a last resort against Dragon-types by inducing hail.

Pokemon studios is kind of like the pretty animation but also involves you actually DOING more. YOu get to make a movie with your Pokemon.

Given that they've ditched the Physical/Special by type ruling and instead made it based on the move itself, I doubt it'll be Dragon. (for example, Ice Fang is a physical-type move, while Ice Beam is Special)

Normal I'd agree with....I'd almost say it was a friendship-based evolution, but you already have those. Chances are it may end up being another stone-based evolution, which isn't always restricted to type either (you have the Dusk, Dawn and Shiny stones. Dawn stone is virtually useless at the moment unless you have a Snorunt or a Kirlia, while the Dusk and Shiny Stones are at least somewhat useful!)

The suggestion for flying-type was based on the name of the Pokemon, which will be Nymphia in Japanese. Apparently they're also ditching the sprites and going to a full 3D style battle.

AS far as a new type goes, I doubt it. The rumour comes around every generation and never happens. On top of that, the Dark and Steel types were only introduced in Generation II (Gold/Silver) to balance out the Psychic and Fighting types. (long story short, in the first gen Psychic-types were weak to Bug and immune to Ghost type attacks. There were only 3 damaging bug-type moves and none of them did a lot of damage. Therefore, it became easy for someone to get hold of a Drowzee or Abra, teach it Psychic and it would wipe out every trainer and gym apart from one. Gen II resulted in the Dark type being introduced and the immunity to ghost-type becoming a weakness instead.) '

I know the interesting history of the types...I was one who had a nice Alakazam in Blue, but I didn't like the sweeping much, it took all the fun out of it. The next psychic I trained was Reuniclus, mostly because I couldn't find one I liked again until him.

I recall they did change to the move types, but I can't remember when... Are Studios a B2W2 thing? I haven't even finished W yet.

Yes they are a B2W2 thing. They aren't an integral part of the plot, kind of like musicals, but you can be more involved in them beyond dressing up your POkemon.

As far as the type change goes, it was around gold/silver. Pretty much the changes were:

Psychic: lost its immunity to Ghost-type moves and gained weaknesses from Ghost and Dark-type moves. Steel-types also resist it and Dark-types are immune to it (one of the few reasons why I try and ensure that one of my team at least has one of those types or moves-Sandile is my current "dark")

Ghost: Gained a weakness in the form of Dark-type while Steel-types are resistant to it (Normal/Fighting types are still immune)

Bug: Lost poison-type as a weakness (both offensive and defensive) and a few more types became resistant to it. In turn though, Bug-types were given more moves that could damage the types it actually does weaken (Dark, Grass and Psychic)

Poison: Steel-types are immune to its effects (which makes most poison-type gyms in the remakes an absolute joke if you get hold of a magnemite )

Fire: Gained a weakness/resistance (Steel is weak to it). Fire types also resist ice.

As far as psychics go, I also prefer Reuniculus. For some reason, I continually keep thinking that Gothita is ghost-type....

I do wish they'd stop making the fire type starters have a fighting-type as their secondary typing. I don't mind fighting types when I need them, but I mean for crying out loud, at least change the dual-typing! The grass-types have had two different secondary types as their final form (Grass/Poison for Gen I and Grass/Ground for Gen IV), while Water has had Steel and Ground.

It just makes it that little bit harder to empathise with wanting a fire-type starter.

I'm still surprised that Gothita and its ilk weren't made into Psychic/Ghost or Psychic/Dark. While I like it (I've been using one in Black to snatch items away from wild Pokémon), it really needs something to make it stand out… well, aside from the rare Shadowtag variant.

Reuniclus has been fun thanks to Magic Guard syncing with a Flame Orb and wrecking teams after Trick Room is activated (which also helps my Sheer Force Steelix to shine).

Actually, I'll bite. When I first saw gothita (while its black exclusive, opponents do use her) I thought she was a ghost or dark type and not a psychic type. So at first I'd be sending out another psychic type or a normal type thinking that she couldn't hit me . Now I know better and send out dark types

As far as designs go overall, while I was among those who thought that an ice cream, a garbage bag and teen cultures (goth/hip hop) were starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel, it is now at least better than a pile of slime (grimer/muk), a head with testicles or boobs (castform), a pipe organ/boom box (exploud/Loudred), a pinecone that blows up (pineco...I used to love brocks reaction whenever he'd call pineco out and it'd blow up immediately), a pokeball variant (voltorb/electrode), half a dozen eggs which turn into a coconut tree (exeggcute/exeggcuror) and my personal annoyances, a love heart and a claddagh ring tied (luvdisc and alomola which I know I've spelt wrong)

Just be careful; Gothitelle can learn Dark Pulse via breeding (but not move tutor, last I checked.. weird), and my Shadow Tag Gothitelle in Black 2 has a Fighting-type Hidden Power to hold back those pesky Dark and Steel-types.

I'm still pretty ticked that my Serene Grace Sawsbuck can't learn Headbutt. How does a deer not learn Headbutt!?

I'm guessing horn leech/take down/megahorn/double-edge cover for it.

Seriously. If you have a Heart scale, take it to the Move Relearner (who's in the PWT in the BW2 versions and in Driftveil/Mistralton in the B/W versions). Sawsbuck can learn Megahorn (so can Samurott oddly enough )

ETA: Thank you for reminding me to consider putting Hidden Power on my Samurott, apparently its hidden power is Dragon and I'm having a hard time getting past the Opelucid Gym at the moment. (White 2)

Megahorn would be great if not for the less than stellar accuracy; the point of my little rant, however, is that Sawsbuck doesn't have much to make full use out of the rare Serene Grace ability (aside from Bounce, I think there's also Shadow Ball and Energy Ball?). At the moment, mine has Horn Leech, Bounce, Aromatherapy, and.. I think Return. I'll have to double check that.

My primary worry at the moment, though, is breeding some Dragon Dancing Tyranitar. I haven't done that since the Emerald days…

Never been a Pokemon follower, but one thing that I don't understand (and "the usual gang of idiots" must have been asleep at their switch, because their parody didn't bring this up) is that you're supposed to catch them all. Of course, there are bad guys like Team Rocket. Why are they bad guys? Because they're trying to catch them all.

Team Rocket are generally trying to steal them all. Generally. And in the newer stories, there's a bunch of arseholes called Team Galactic who want you to free them all.

Do I have that right? O.o The team led by Cyrus in D/P/Pt/Gen 4 which I can't remember the name of and may have got muddled up with the above were the ones I liked best because they presented much more of a credible threat without seeming too much like a real cult.
