If that had been me, I'd have responded: "Ooh, candy bar! That's a great idea! I'll get one of those, too!" LOL. As far as I'm concerned, fruit is NOT dessert, (unless it's coveredin chocolate) but that's just me.

I used to be on WW too, but I couldn't stand the meetings. It seemed like all the women there were trying to 'one-up' each other about eating better than someone else. I hate how people try to turn it into a competition and cut other people down! Sounds like your friend is trying to make herself feel better even though she's miserable.

That was, more or less, my experience too. Between the one-upping, the cheerleading and the politics, it just turned me off. I still have the books, still use the recipes and the points system, but I just can't go to the meetings.

My wife and I recently joined Weight Watchers. I joined mainly because she wanted to join -- being a supportive husband. She has been overweight most of her life, and it has caused her self-esteem problems. I've been overweight off and on throughout my life, but never worried much about it. Sometimes I'd like to look slimmer, but sometimes I don't care.

Aside from supporting my wife, I thought it might help with some of my health issues. I've been having sleep problems, high cholesterol, depression/anxiety/stress, mood swings, low energy, digestive problems, migraines, assorted body aches and pains. There are just days when I don't feel right. I have good days and bad days. I have days when the morning coffee seems to do its job of getting me going and motivated. I have days when I feel like I've had no morning coffee at all even if I drank an entire pot. It's just hit and miss. I've been looking at diet and exercise, but I hurt a lot of times and have no energy, so I don't exercise like I should. I've been considering something like walking, yoga or stretchercise to get me started on an exercise routine, but I just don't have the energy and hurt all the time.

Anyway, I don't eat but one meal a day, and that's usually because I know I need to eat to keep my strength up even if I don't feel like eating. I'm seeing a doctor to figure out what all is wrong, and we're working through a list of problems relating to my symptoms. It just takes time. Basically, I eat whatever sounds good at the time because eating anything is better than eating nothing. That's where I am right now. Somedays, I may munch on junk food, and other days it may be healthier things like fruits and vegetables. All I know is I just want to feel like my old self again instead of the way I feel now.

Aside from all I've just said, I don't let other people affect me with their comments and criticisms. It's liberating to not give a damn what everyone else thinks.

My coworkers hate me, because I tend to eat a lot of random crap in front of them, but they will never let me leave down my response to the double down, I called it the triple threat.
A burger, swiss cheese, american cheese, 3 strips of bacon, and two honey mustard chicken patties as the bread. IT was delicious. I'm not really over weight by my standards, I do have a bit of a gut forming but not nearly as bad as other people I know. I never work out and know I should.

I just get annoyed by the people who are like OH I'm on a diet, and don't want to attempt any physical fucking exercise or self control to lose weight, and then bitch that they need to loose weight.

Because I'm forming a gut, I have been trying to eat a little bit healthier, can't really bring myself to work out but gonna have to as I just enlisted.

I just noticed the other day when I put on my baggy pants that I need a belt for, I was able to comfortably go a notch tighter with the belt. We were talking about weight stuff in the lab and I mentioned it. The douchebag co-worker had to respond that I still had a long way to go. Wtf? Other than a small gut, I'm not even close to fat by any means. Just because I'm not 5-6% body fat like him doesn't mean I have to drop 30-40 pounds to be in shape. Way to be real fucking supportive.

Heh, I approve...One coworker made the mistake of comparing our diets...And while I don't eat great, I tend to try and eat reasonably well. The thing is, I will keep a honey-bun in my lunch in case I need energy on longer days...so I started putting that on his desk when he was trying to eat better

I'm on Weight Watchers right now and it is all about planning. If you know you are going to be going out for Fro Yo then plan for it. If you have enough points then you can eat it. If you don't have enough point and you want it, work out to get the extra points. I have been satisfied with my weight loss because I work for it. Being on weight watchers is not a magical program to lose weight. A person has to want to lose the weight.

Congratulation on the weight loss. As long as you keep working towards a goal it will happen.

I've noticed a lot of women have started being nicer to me since I lost my flat stomach and got thicker in the thighs and an even bigger ass. And some people treat me differently when I eat junk vs health food.

                        Fake people. How great.

Some people just have to put someone else down to make themselves look better. There are a lot of naysayers who seem to enjoy making someone fall off the fitness wagon. Do what is best for you, and pay those jerks no heed. Those who really care about you want you to be healthy.
