  • "Straight" gays/bi-sexuals

I don't really have a problem with gays or bi-sexuals except on craigslist when they make posts like this one titled "Rainy Day Head ? - 25", no pic, no sex, look interesting i must click. Yes, looking for computer parts I wind up amusing myself in the personals because some a fucking hilarious/demanding especially this gem. Its like a garage sale where you have no intention to buy but want to see what crap people are selling anyways and amusement follows.

Im bored and have the place to myself again. I am clean discreet and good looking. Str8 acting ; no twink here not at all. Looking for a married or downlow dude to come sit in my chair and let me suck you off. Disease free a must and discreet a must. No players or bullshit, NO twinks or bottoms or fems, not my thing. Just a real man that knows he needs some head and damn good head. Not checking emails, text me. Not down for endless texts or pics or whatever, real time fun.

*number* *number* nine *number* eight 3 *number* seven one one. Poppers 420 or snow whatever you like is cool. Age open and race open also. Just be real dont waste our time....
    "

My thoughts are this, you can not be straight and wanting to suck a cock, that is for the bi-curious/sexual or gay grouping. I especially, find the ad funny with how he wants no "twinks", you know just one manly man sucking on another manly man, the only thing he was missing in the ad was a line saying "must bring baseball bat to go beat down twinks afterward"

Aside from the whole sexual identity self-loathing going on, I love the casual one-liner about drugs being ok.

andara, you also bring up a point. I do notice he isn't saying Drugs and Disease free (which really makes me wonder)

Why would that make you wonder? You're not going to catch something from someone who's on something, so drug free isn't half as important as disease free. Plus, the guy seems a bit on the shallow side, tho he doesn't have any requirement that the person taking him up on his offer be good-looking, just manly.

Actually, the only thing that gets any real attention in the post is the whole "real man/no twinks" angle, which he mentions three separate times, while everything else gets a single comment, except the discreet part, which I suspect ties in with the "manly" stuff. Sounds like the dude's almost completely in the closet, actually.

Depends on how you want to define straight/bi/gay. I have always identified at bisexual because I am physically and sexually attracted to both sexes. On the other hand I know people who will sleep with either gender, but identify as straight/gay because they only get emotionally attached/ romantically involved with one or the other.

There really is no hard and fast rule on how the labels are defined.

What annoys me is when you get girls, usually teenage girls, who pretend to be bisexual (ie, kissing their friends) to attract boys. That just seems really shallow and pathetic.

You're expecting personal ads on Craigslist to make SENSE?

I'm not really seeing the problem with this ad.

He's being honest about what he's offering and what he's looking for.

Just because he is not sexually attracted to effeminate gay men does not mean that he hates them or hates himself.

I'm not attracted to effeminate men either, so it's unlikely that I will ever offer one oral sex. Doesn't mean I don't wish them well.

His defining terms are "twinks" and "real men." And he's "straight acting."

His choice of terminology and the importance he places on those factors are signs that he's got issues.

I don't have a horse in this race, myself, as I wouldn't even make a convincing twink, much less a "real man."

Yes, I can see how his use of terminology is a bit distasteful.

I can sort of see where he's coming from in using it, though. Many moons back, I saw campaigners against laws banning gays in the military on the TV being interviewed in a studio. The spokesperson was affecting the stereotypical gay lisp and I thought he made the worst advert going because of it.

It's akin to the worst excesses of gay culture at pride marches. All it does is say 'look at me, I'm different' instead of what it needs to say - 'look at me, I'm pretty much the same barring one detail'.

I read one blogger recently who said that Caprica had a very surprising gay couple. They weren't there to make up a quota, or be a cute gay couple, or for comedic effect. It was just a couple of men who were gay and in a relationship. It wasn't a plot element, it was just how things were. If that guy was advertising while thinking along those lines, I really could understand his comments.

I'm also somewhat saddened by the way he thinks he needs to hide his sexuality, but that's the reality of his situation.

I get annoyed with those ads too.....if you are a man looking to get together with a man in any sexual context you are NOT STRAIGHT! You are at least bi if not gay so just admit it!!

And that's all I have to say on that topic

Back to the OP, this guy really sounds like a closet case. I have no problem with the guy saying he wants a certain type of man (some people like butch guys, some like feminine guys, some likes bears, some like geeks, some like... well, you get the idea). The thing is that he isn't just saying what he prefers, he is beating it like a dead horse, and his assurances that he is discreet. It sounds a lot like he is a closet case (perhaps even a self hater) looking for other closet cases. Hey, if that is how people want to live, I guess that is their right and far be it for me to try to deny that...

When I was at public TV, we did a whole Connections show (Connections is a minority interest show) on "Down Low Men" who claim to be straight guys who like to fuck other dudes.

I'm sorry, but isn't the definition of straight "guys that DON'T like to fuck other dudes"?

Anyways, they swore blind they were straight while extolling the virtues of penis.

Careful, guys, that closet's getting so full y'all are starting to fall out of it.

I can see where you're coming from, but as far as I'm aware the origins of Mardi Gras weren't to show difference, and presence despite that, but it's of religious festival origins.

Must admit, it seems to have evolved into something completely different...
