In situations like this, why is anyone complaining? Sure, bad stuff happens to people, but at least we're all living on a planet with fairly stable weather (when compared to the rest of the solar system.. who wants to vacation on Jupiter or Venus?).

Hell, when was the last time we suffered a mass extinction event equivalent to the Permian or Cretaceous? Oh, but then again, those events didn't affect people, so they obviously don't matter.

From what I see of this trend on the interwebs, a lot of it seems to be a sort of cultural backlash against the perceived prevalence of "teenage angsting". You know the sort - you can spot it on FML pretty much any day - "omygod my parents won't do everything I want them to MY LIFE IS IN RUINS FOREVER." It seems that any and all complaints are getting lumped together as "stupid trivial garbage everyone whines about".

We can all complain, but it's downright annoying as hell when some people CONSTANTLY complain, especially about the petty stuff. Seriously, shut the fuck up. Nobody wants to hear the incessant whining. Yeah, there's always worse but no need to have some jackass tell you that if you wanna vent/complain/kvetch and the like about your problem. I ignore the assholes that try and marginalize my problems. Don't start nothin' won't be nothin', nuff said.

That is part of it you should be aware who your complaining to. Hey if you didn't know the person has it worse in that situation fine but if you know they do then don't be surprised when they bite your head off.
