I had to listen to a five minute lecture on how I should never spend money on anything but rent, food, and utilities.
Ask her if she really intends that you should be going to work naked. Seriously. Clothes should absolutely belong in there somewhere. Along with transportation fees.

lol yeah we actually had that conversation eventually it just always boggles my mind I mean I kind of get her saying I am being silly with my money when I buy a movie prop that is totally a want not even close to a need but seriously clothing?
My mom makes those snide remarks about money because she loaned me money (she FOISTED it on me, no lie) last year to help me pay off a loan and some medical bills.
Any time I am one day later than she wants to make my monthly payment to her, she starts hollering at me. If I dare say I was going to McDonalds for a Friday treat or if I went to Wal-Mart to buy nail polish or something, she'll make remarks about me having money to do x, y or z, but not enough to pay her back.

Lol my mom used to use that as her excuse until I pointed out that I had paid her 6 grand of the 10 grand I owe her.
Money I borrowed by the way to be able to take care of my little brother while he was in high school you know her son that she couldn't take care of cuz they were at each other's throats.
Wait... You "borrowed" money from your mother to take care of her child that she refused to take care of?
Screw that. It's called child support not a loan.

Yes but not refused to take care of. My little brother literally chose living on the streets rather than living at home with our mom.
Our dad passed when my little brother was 15 our sister hid in a relationship and got married soon as she was old enough, our older brother was an addict in no condition to help out the family. My mom was a wreck.
That being said yeah I felt I shouldn't have owed her the money given that I was doing what she couldn't. I understood why she couldn't but financially I could barely afford to support myself and him having to pay for a place that having roommates would have made more affordable.
Wouldn't or couldn't, you were still doing something that was her responsibility. They money you received to take care of your brother while he was still a minor would still be considered child support.

This phenomenon of "commenting on everything" seems to come and go in waves both here and on CS. There are certain users whose posts I will skip over, no matter the topic, thread or context, simply because they over-comment and seem to just be on repeat. I wish that weren't the case, but they never seem to have anything constructive to add to a thread, they just comment for the sake of being involved.
