I don't entirely understand what Facebook has to do with it. My ex-wife had our daughter before social networking sites were a thing when my love of the internet still labeled me a dork.

I can guarantee you that if you were, friend, family, or the girl she was punching out for calling her fat, kidding on the last one, that you were seeing those ultra sound pictures and seeing her show you how big her baby bump was.

I am going to hazard a guess that it's not so much the medium that bothers you but the fact that overexcited first parents can be prone to over share?

I know you have to block the person, but if all they are posting is stuff that's annoying and offensive to you, then why do you want to see their updates anyway?

I guess the drawback is that they can't see yours either, and they know they've been blocked.

Still, just click on the little "X" to remove the thing from your feed and then you don't have to keep looking at it.

I had a laugh this week with the latest instalment of my drama laden cousins on FB.
The SIL made a post about her hubby (my cousin) and apparently, they were having marital issues this week.
She informed everyone that she needed a good man who loves her unconditionally and doesn't lie and hide things or use her. She wants a man who will be an honest loving husband and father.
OK...seems reasonable if they are having issues that she would post a little vent.
The icing on the cake was the last line:
This wonderful man that she's looking for also doesn't "piss the bed when drunk..."

I just about spewed my coffee when I read that part.
I see she's taken it down now, but the family had a pretty good laugh about it.

On the TMI from parents, my niece had an update a while back bragging about her 3 year old son's bowel movements.
"Omg my 3 year old takes the biggest poops! He's the only 3 year old I know that needs to double flush hahahaha""
I asked my little sister if we were supposed to offer congratulations or what?
      Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

Of course, you could always turn the tables on them. If someone insists on posting TMI crap all the time...why not reply...with a post about the hairballs your cat hacks up, the dead mouse they caught...or the phlegm you coughed up?

I'm more upset today that one of my former friends posted a picture of her, her baby, and her baby daddy, who is in prison for parole violations stemming from a previous incarceration for kidnapping his ex gf and drug charges.

I didn't know it was ok to take pictures in prison, but apparently she took the baby to the prison to vist him. Then she posts about how much she misses him. Yeah, well, you're gonna be missing him for 10 more years!

Seriously, dumb. Dumb. I'm clicking on that little "x". There is so much wrong with that that I can't even wrap my little blonde mind around it.

I have a coworker on FB whose current profile picture is her standing next to her boyfriend. He's wearing his orange suit Like it's something to be proud of and the justice system has done him wrong by putting him there.

I won't hold anything against someone for having a record; I have a good friend with a record, but I don't go round acting like he's a saint. It was an asshole thing he did and he deserved the punishment he served.

My office shares a floor with a collections company. We both use the same break room the collections agency seems to hire people that like lots of money and have no ethics and morals so often I hear things like,

"Can you believe they put him in jail for robbery/drugs/theft/hold up (think of a crime) that's so stupid they should have let him go!"

These are people that know these things are illegal but somehow have decided that they aren't doing anything wrong when they break the law and that the people that do wrong are the ones who bust them for it.
