lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. Throw in a few digs then argue that you're above the arguing haha. You don't get to make an argument and then cower away saying "no more arguing!"
Now.....
So I don't know why the exact details matter so much, but it was on the warcraft message board, where people quite frequently use nasty, inflammatory language, and I made a comment in a thread about healers that healers who refuse to heal just because they have an attitude problem are real a$$holes. I was then banned for 72 hours.
I didn't go "looking" for loopholes. I felt like using a strong word, I saw that other people use similar strong language and don't get in trouble, so I went with it. As far as I knew I was within the bounds of the rules by censoring myself. No matter how you want to twist it around in your mind, $ does not equal S. Apparently the mods disagreed.
It wasn't CS, or Fratching. No mods here. It's not a thinly veiled argument to hate on blacks or talk about aliens and tinfoil hats.
If I could clarify, because people have an incredibly deluded view of me and I want to set the record straight - of course I know not everyone is out to get me. that'd be stupid. I've never, ever said anything that remotely sounds like "Everyone is out to get me!" Seriously, scan my posts. If you can find that phrase in there (in proper context), I will leave this board and never ever come back if that is what people so desire.
What I do believe, however, is that people frequently need a scapegoat for something. An example. And they usually choose me. Why? I'm not as likable. If life was a game of DnD, I'd have a charisma rating of 4. And I believe that when it comes time for those in power to be handing out some shit, they're going to choose me first because I'm not the homie. I'm not the bro. I'm no one's best friend with an angel on my shoulder.
So when the cop hasn't met his ticket writing quota, he's going to notice me before anyone else. When the mod needs to clean up the message board, he's not going to risk pissing off one of the MVP members who he's developed a close friendship with, he's going to pick out one of my posts to set an example and show everyone they need to follow the rules. If a company needs to throw in some cutbacks, they're going to find some bullshit reason to fire me, because I'm not their drinking buddy or their drug hookup.
I'm not saying that just because someone has negative feelings towards me they're never allowed to enforce the rules, either. That'd just be stupid as well. But they are not allowed to enforce the rules based on those negative feelings. That is wrong. It's an abuse of power.
So there ya have it. Glad we've cleared it up and you see there's no tinfoil hats over this way. I feel sorry for the ones who still won't get it.
