[QUOTE=senor boogie woogie;104437I dont know how or why New Orleans people could watch that stink every fall.[/QUOTE]

Probably because they're the local team. Much like the Cleveland Browns...who have never made it to the Super Bowl, and get their asses handed to them constantly. Their current record is what, 4-12? The same could be said of my town's baseball team. The Pirates just suck! The only reason they're still around, is that the locals still watch them. I tried to follow them, but seeing them get their asses beat constantly, I'd fall asleep!

Plenty of die-hard Chiefs and Royals fans here, despite the fact that both are terrible. Well, the Chiefs seem to be turning their season around, but, even when terrible, the locals still love them. When they beat a 'good' team, like the Packers or Broncos, it's a bonus.

What I forgot to mention was that I lived a lot of years in my life in Mississippi which was in the "territory" of New Orleans, so in December, the marquee games were not shown and we were treated to a 3-11 Saints team looking for their first away victory. Now every team has their down and awful season (like the Colts this year) but the poor Saints were drecky bad for years and years and years and bloody more years. There were a few breakout years pre-2000, but few and far between.

The poor Chiefs have always seemed to be a team that could never get over the hump. Usually mediocre to bad, with that one season that everyone thinks will be a springboard to a Championship the next year, just to be back to 8-8 or 7-9.

the people here in GB BLEED green and gold. the whole town has a green and gold theme and there are more businesses with a variation of Pakers/Green ande Gold than you can shake a stick at. and is it almost a requirement that you own a peice of Packers clothing (including underware and no I am not kidding) and wear said cothing as often as possible. the fan involvment goes WAY beyond tradition and community spirit. this town LIVES, eats, sleeps, shits, screws, dies, decorates, and prays to God (not just talking about praying to God for the Pack to win yes religious services ARE moved on Xmas Day if the NFL changes the start time of game that day God takes HIS cue from the Packers).

There are international Packers Fans that are just as rabid as the "locals" such as an Aussie man who quit his job, moved his FAMILY lock-stock-and barrel to GB, rented a house, and managed to get tickets for all OF THAT seasons games. such is the worldwide mystic of the GB Packers.
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

I got one foot on a banana peel and the other in the Twilight Zone.
