    That's what I was getting at.

    Americans, on a whole, tend to see the ca as a status symbol, an extension of themselves. Even a part of the family. It is a part of the American mystique. Like baseball, apple pie, etc. Thus, Americans take 'better' care of their cars (from their perspective) or 'excessive' (from yours).

    I don't own a car, but this is just my experience.

      Unless your a geek like me then your computer is your status symbol.

      Totally not kidding me and my friends will geek out about what our computers can do then buy some POS car and slap an autobot decal on it.
