  • Being Lied To

I've been trying to help a guy on Facebook become a better RPer. He was... Okay, I'll be honest. Like, every cliche of a bad RPer, he was. I have seriously considered, like, he might be a troll or something. But I think he's just a kid who sucks at RPing. I've tried to help him get better.

And to his credit, he's been really willing to listen to criticism, and I've tried to help.

And then he claimed one of the pages I RP with sent him a harassing PM. Which I know didn't happen.

I know that because the person (that Pinkie Pie page I've mentioned) never breaks character.

I know because he doesn't let the admin talk.

I know because he only became aware of this kid yesterday and he wouldn't develop that strong distaste that quickly.

I know because I spent basically every second he was on yesterday talking to him, and if he did do something like that, he'd mention it.

I know because he wasn't able to log ON today, nor will he be able for a while, because of personal issues.

    Most of all.

I know because YOU CAN'T GET A PM FROM A PAGE.

See, I hate bad RPers, but I'll work with them. If you godmode, mary-sue, powerplay, any of that, I'll forgive you. It just means you're a bad writer. I can take that. But I will NOT be lied to. I have very few principles, I suppose. Very few things that I will hear and it'll get a black mark. Disagree on politics, disagree on religion, even insulting my friends if you stop when I ask you.

But I will NOT be lied to.

because he thinks he can get away with it? is jealous or wants attention and to do so, will do this to get you away from the other pages and play with him only?

only guesses based on what you have described mind you.
question is, does this mean its a deal breaker and no more roleplaying, or done dealing with him all together?
    or something less harsh?

sorry you were lied to. not sure if god moding is excusable either though.

Well, I'm not done dealing with him altogether. Everyone gets a second chance. If he does it again, it will be a deal breaker.

I'm not defending him or anything, but I think with people like that, it's not so much lying as it is exaggerating.

People who are really needy or have weaker personalities tend to over-exaggerate and over-extreme everything, to get attention and to cause reactions in others.

Remind them of something, you "nagged" them. They made a mistake at work and got reminded to be more careful, they're being "harrassed". You said you couldn't come over tomorrow because you have to take your brother to the airport, you "NEVER want to do ANYTHING!"

See, I'd be willing to take it that way, if he hadn't claimed it was over PM. Something that's not possible. It's one thing to exaggerate, but to claim he was harassed over PM is making it up whole-cloth.

Is there anything reasonably equivalent to PM?

I'd certainly not like it if someone said I was lying because I told of a conversation happening by, say, email when it had really been a Facebook message or something. Not unless the medium was the point.
