The canonical example of that is when a salesman for a milkshake mixer company saw a hamburger stand owned by a couple brothers, liked the idea, bought the place, and replicated it. The brothers' last name? McDonald.

(I've been twice, both times a member of the group got a cold or frozen entree.) The other, which is downtown, charges $20 for a freaking plate of spaghetti. UGH.
Olive Garden is mass-market, pseudo-Italian, (IMNSHO) overpriced food. If there's a GOOD, reasonably-priced local Italian place, OG won't take away business. If OG is the lesser of two evils, it will.

Depending on the location. Olive Garden would have a distinct advantage near an interstate, for example, because travelers know what to expect there, and the local, one-of-a-kind place is a crapshoot.

When it comes to food, I am a little picky. With sliced olives, I have to have a lot. I am just starting to like pickles.

When I go out to eat, I try not to waste any. If I cannot eat it all, I see if I can take some home for later. Hell at this one Mexican restaurant, that is not in business anymore. If I went there and had an investigation later that night, I would get a big meal and eat slowly. That way I can take it home for after the investigation.

We had our annual winter Blasenheimer family reunion today (thankfully, just the one side of the family).

My God, there was so much food. I took easily 5 pounds of chicken home with me. I don't need to make dinner before work or worry about what to eat at work nearly all week. Nor do I need to worry about protein intake this week

I don't know if I would necessarily call myself picky. Yes, having an overly-sensitive stomach and problems with onions does limit what I can safely eat, but I still try to avoid ordering the same thing at a restaurant twice in a row. I live by a mentality of "I'll try (almost) anything once" and that has usually worked out for me. XD The stuff that I 'try once' that I A) really like and B) don't get sick from goes on my 'Oh yay. I can eat this' list.

Pretty much the only things that you could not pay me to eat are things that are either overly stinky, overly spicy, or... are internal organs.

Agree with this 100 percent. I can handle some spice and some stink (cheese?) but overly spicy is a no way for me. And I don't do internal organs EVER.

But on the other hand I've gotten brave and ventured into the land of sushi/sashimi. Raw fish used to scare me..and now I'm addicted to it. It's the BEST!

I used to be terrified of the thought of eating sushi too. But when my sister came to visit us one year, she made it for us. Now I'm rather addicted to it too.

Picky McPickerson never had lobster before, and since it's lobsterfest, and they actually really wanted to try it, I suggested we go there for dinner, and they can start with something simple like just the tail.

I had already loaded myself up so full on my food and was already bringing stuff home with me for the next day/into the workweek, that nearly the entire tail went wasted because they took one or two little pecks and didn't like it.

I hate the thought of wasting food, but damn I'm just glad I'm not the one who pays when this idiot picks and hems and haws at their food and doesn't like practically anything put in front of them.

Also good that when I got us sandwiches the other week, they ate the entire thing right in front of me. So I guess if I'm paying, they feel guilted into actually being an adult and eating their food and not whining. But then again, it was a plain turkey sandwich.
