I can't even read on a treadmill, let alone text. I'm bobbing around too fast, and can't hold anything still. I listen to my iPod.
I do sort of question how hard someone's working out if they're able to text while on a treadmill, but for all I know, an ambling pace IS a good workout for them. For example, an obese person who was previously completely sedentary doesn't need to move terribly fast to get their heart rate up. Presumably, once the slow walking gets too easy for them, they'll pick up the pace.
